I became conscious of the shadow through a particularly complex moral dilemma I had to face and struggle with in life...it was in that tremendous struggle I experienced what Jung spoke of as "the shadow which cannot be refused, neglected, tamed by good behavior, silenced by piety...but through a painful challenge to integrate our unloved part to the whole." Outer morality is human created laws but inner morality is a higher order of laws...sewn into the fabric of existence....
