For me, it is unethical. But I see what you mean: What we don't tell our governant (either parents, judges, or god) is what we believe unethical.
But still, I tell my parent everything I believe relevant to him, and apropiate to tell him. Here apropiate is not ethicallity, but how neccesary it is that I tell him.
