A Conquest of the United States

In these three consecutive compositions you have created a story that would interest all readers. But for the discerning reader there is much more, the blurring of reality and fiction allows you to give your characters a depth that would not be possible otherwise.

I am left wondering how much is True, how much Fiction, and how much Autobiography.

To Protect the Constitution Part I
To Protect the Constitution Part II
The Conquest of the United States Part III

Fanfare for the Common Man is one of the most recognizable pieces of 20th Century American classical music. Copland's fanfare was reincarnated in 1977 by British rock band Emerson, Lake & Palmer on the album Works Volume I. It became one of the band's biggest hits and one of my favourites.

This is the equivalent in prose!!

Have you ever been stymied in your life ??

Thank you for the merciful admonition, Greg.
Here's hoping the link contents are passable as a more readable form of political science.
Incidentally, just recently someone told me - in a forum post - that 'Iraq can kick the U.S. out anytime it wishes'.
That's news to me. Do you think that 'Operation Free Iraq' is a literal truth?
Oh yes. I get stymied a lot. I think that politics and war have about as much in common as dirigibles and basketballs.
You would understand that soldiers don't do politics. They simply do what they must to survive. I believe you agree, there's a world of difference.

Hmmmm .... I think your tempting me into a political statement ... lol

I think prior to Saddam Hussein most people would never have heard of it. Never have associated it with the Tigris and Euphrates. Never have associated it with Babylon.

It is most probably the first sophisticated attempt at farming (agrarian as opposed to nomadic) our species ever attempted.

Since that time it has been a prize in a world where possession is 9/10s of the law. It has been conquered temporarily by nearly every major civilisation that has ever arisen since prehistoric times. Iit produced the first writing, literature, sciences, mathematics, laws, and philosophies of the world.

Its history of conquerors include the Mongols who killed between 200,000-1,000,000 people because it refused to surrender.

Richard Burton's translation of the 'Arabian Nights' is a treasure house on Iraq history and social life. Another excellent source of study of its differing peoples is Wilfried Thesiger's 'The Marsh Arabs'.

I was there in the 70s during the Iraq-Iran war.

I think your question 'Is free Iraq a literal truth' is really only referring to the current decade ??

Wot can I say .... Most people would believe the last invasion was well motivated if mistaken in hindsight, and suspect, with good reason, that they were misled. Taken in a more historical perspective ... it is a jewel, it has resources the world needs, it always has.

The people are beautiful in form and nature, the food is excellent ..... tho if your American, and you visit, you may not find this.
