Sir:
God, must find it exceedingly odd,
when he observes that this tree
continues to be
when there is no one about in the Quad ?
God:
I find your astonishment odd!
I'm always about in the Quad,
and thats why this tree
continues to be
since observed by yours faithfully .. God.

A sound, like a color and even light, is but made in the mind, so, when the tree falls, there are only sound waves and electromagnetic waves happening, for there is no eye or ear for them to impinge on.
However, a little bird heard it and saw it and told me.
What is the sound of one hand clapping?
How can the knowing be known?
Who could know That which knows?
That would imply separation... two.
There is no 'thing' looking at some other separate 'thing'...
How could colour be separate from the seeing?
Though not separate from this seeing... whatever is seen... cannot see...
though not separate from this knowing... whatever is the object of thought... is not this knowing
whatever is observed... cannot itself observe
whatever appears real... is not
reality and unreality are One...
how can two be One?
they cannot...
unreality is simply unreal...
it exists only in the moment it appears... and even then... what it seems to be... it is not
it seems to be 'things'
it seems to be 'solid' and 'heavy'
it seems to be made up of 'separate bits'
it seems to extend over 'time' and throughout 'space'
yet all that appears are sensations...
colours exist as they appear... not separate from this seeing
odours exist as they appear... not separate from this smelling
flavours exist as they appear... not separate from this tasting
sounds exist as they appear... not separate from this hearing
feelings exist as they appear... not separate from this feeling
that sensations appear to be any 'thing' at all... is an illusion
all sensations are ever 'latent' in the senses... ever unchanged...
as they appear within these senses, they magically pattern an infinitesimal aspect of all this that is known... this number form and meaning... telling this story of 'life'...
experienced from the perspective of each creature in the story... one creature at a time... one moment at a time...
As for 'remembering'... all that is known is ever present... ever known... ever unchanged... and ever hidden from awareness...
it can never be seen or heard or smelled or tasted or felt in any way...
it appears that it is 're-membered'... as sensations image 'aspects' of the known...
but the sensations that image the known are neither 'number' 'form' nor 'meaning'...
As for the 'watcher'... what can be said of this One?
Source is the watcher, the film, the light and all that there appears to be
but nothing is real nor can anything be Source.
A definition of 'real'... "this that is ever unchanged"...
I am... is acknowledgement of this reality...
I am all knowing
and all that is known...
All that is known is ever unchanged... self referential... each 'thing' defined by reference to all other things... all completely... One
and so though all 'things' are 'unreal'... for they have no independent existence
yet they are real... for they are eternally One with this knowing...
as for 'existence'... a thing is said to 'exist' if it can be sensed... yet all that is sensed are 'sensations'
it is impossible to sense any thing at all...
and yet as each thing is imaged through the senses... so it is re-cognised... so it is 'consciously' known...
One of your absolute best Mel. I agree

— The Sixth Sense —
The brain interprets reality and puts
A face on the waves of sound, light, color, touch,
And a sense on molecules’ smell and taste.
Consciousness is the brain’s perception of itself.
