    Re: pain intelligence

Yes, we do, as we both have hunger pangs, plus, freezing and frostbite are much worse than just being cold, so they are pain. It's all in the wording (and the non-changing of the wording).

I had an itch somewhere, I won't say where, but I had to keep itching it (scratching it is the right word?) even through the pain that soon came, too, in order to fully relive it.

i am i, also, or at least such is my perception.

How can both of us make the same claim?

What does this awareness of being 'i' actually entail?
So many paths to the same destination,
would, but I could, experience them all...

Pain exists in the mind, as a qualia, the only place it can. When asleep and dreaming, there is no actual signal from a real nerve signaling the pain and its source.

Oppositely, when under local anesthesia, there is no pain (ideally), as a qualia, but there is still a nerve signalling what would be pain.

    Re: pain intelligence

I think blisters hurt really bad, especially when they pop less than 1/2 hour after it formed from doing last fall's yard work. Curse that garden!
