The synchronicity of thought never ceases to amaze and amuse me.
Our snowfall this year has been insidiously cumulative since our near record dumps of November. It falls a centimeter or two at a time, so that one does not recognize how much has fallen until one is heading up the lane and one observes that the last visitor and Yukon Electric have slipped off the carefully packed and widened track, making the road nearly impassible by their frantic over-corrections. As I was combating this new obstacle enroute to work last Thursday, I was thinking that I would have to get on the phone for my snow plow fellow and hope he wasn't too busy to fit me in.
Coming home from the office a few hours later, this thought was still in my mind, as my first task to attend when I noticed strange tracks on the road ahead of me, tracked machinery, and they turned down my lane. I looked for a truck and trailer, the usual way that tracked equipment is transported, but saw none parked nearby. Had a neighbor invested in their own equipment?
As I headed down my drive, I recognized the machine and my regular fellow operating it. He pulled a ninety and tucked the machine out of my way as I drove by and then followed me to the house.
He seemed slightly embarrassed as he explained that he was in the neighborhood anyway and was following up on my suggestion to just do my driveway whenever it was convenient.
"There's not really that much snow, though, so I wasn't sure if I should be doing it....", he was awaiting my reaction.
"I was just on my way to call you! Those young drivers had carved up the way pretty bad for the small cars. Besides, I think you are comparing it to last time when we could barely get the 4x4's up the drive, lol... Remember? You couldn't understand why I was calling you as you had very little snow seven miles away while we got dumped on. My previous request stands. You hit this driveway whenever you are in the neighborhood and it has snowed because once it starts to warm up, it gets slick in a hurry and I'll be having the girls out to play with horses. Women drivers, lol....", and I rolled my eyes.
That made the fellow laugh, and he saw no disparity in the fact that I was a women driver making such a comment. All the fellows conceded that I was a very good driver, for a woman.
He resumed his task with enthusiasm and I mentally ticked off calling for the snow plow from my 'to do' list, as universal synchronicity had looked after me once again.

Very interesting, Drifter. I have no doubt that this is along the reasoning of my grandfather teaching me never to call another by an uncomplimentary name. He said that the power of words lives on long after they are spoken and that while we can apologize and ask forgiveness, the harm done to the esteem of another still lives on. This is also the reason that I try to avoid contentious debate where the parties become abusive rather than speaking logically and with evidence to the question at hand.

Indeed. I quite agree. For that reason I also pay close attention to anything which causes me fear or concern, for left unaddressed, these also can become self-fulfilling prophecies. My grandfather also said that there was nothing to fear save the fear itself. He did not mean that there was nothing to fear, but rather that the fear could prevent us from more closely examining the concern and taking a logical approach to mitigating potentials for harm. Once one examines the cause of one's fear, one can break the problem down into more easily resolved steps.
Interesting that most fear comes from societal conditioning or negative experience. I observe that babies and young animals are born seemingly without fear and actually have to be taught those things which need to be respected for their harmful potential.

I was looking at the weather forecast for the next few days this morning and thinking that it was too bad that the warmest weather of the week was falling on Thursday, when I both work at the office in the morning and then go in for graveyard shift that night, leaving me no time to play with my horses.
Lo and behold, the phone rang a short time ago and it is my office job boss on the line. Out of the blue he tells me to take Thursday off in lieu of hours that I have worked from home over the recent past.
Once again, universal synchronicity was 'reading my mail', lol....![]()
