PREFACE:
If your goal is to create a Unified Field Theory by developing a mathematical model that combines the mathematics of "The Theory of Relativity" and "Quantum Mechanics", you may just be overlooking what is already developed. The problem may not be with the mathematics of these theories, but with the interpretation of the mathematical terms and numbers produced by these theories. Our theoretical physicist seems to be fixated on discovering a new mathematical expression that will solve all the anomalies of our current Standard Models. Rather than creating more complex math, let's take another look at the paradigm we use to interpret them into our view of reality. Let's have equations match reality and existence be a rational paradigm; keep science fiction out of science fact. In science, fact is not stranger than fiction.

Theoretical physics has advanced to a phase indicating a truly unbelievable universe. Is the right side of our brain unable to comprehend the complexities of nature and form a logical perception of nature's fundamental secrets? Does the ability to understand existence lie only in the few with the remarkable ability to jump beyond the confines of reality and into multiple dimensions of existence? Is this leading to what some believe, that our science is becoming another religion with its authorities of the word? Some may believe so, but the fact is, the scientists are also confused by these theories. Few scientists accept the assertion of real time movement to the past or future. Few believe alternate dimensions of existence. So why is it the mathematics indicate such strange goings-on. It is not the mathematics; it is primarily the over active imaginations that have translated these mathematical terms into concepts of physical reality.

The mainstream media and even several reputable science journals expend time and text to the oddities of our most comprehensive gauge theories and very little to the true functionality value of these theories. More time is exhausted promoting concepts of “Time Travel”, “Multiple Universes”, and several other improbable realities extracted from “Relativity” and “Quantum Physics” rather than emphasizing the useful applications and successes of these theories such as the advances in technology. The general population usually obtains their information from mainstream media and of course, TV. This results in many people being awed by the science and others who believe scientist are absolute intellectual morons.

Modern theories are not so much perceptual in nature today as they are mathematical. Thus, mathematically, science has combined the four forces of nature using these theories. However, each of these theories have encountered phenomena that irritate the right side of our brain – They challenge logic. Some scientist sooth this irritation by dismissing the phenomena and becoming content that “if the mathematics work, it does not make a difference as to what is real. Is reality as complex and abstract as the mathematics seem to indicate? Are there physical dimensions that exist beyond the known three dimensions of our universe? Science requires a perceptual paradigm of reality that explains the universe in absolute fundamental concepts that do not border the realms of metaphysics and religion.

I agree with your basic arguments and especially with your last sentence. But when I wrote a more detailed comment the other day, it wasn't accepted. Too bad, because I would have loved to discuss a few things with you.
Please keep putting down your thoughts, maybe some day I'll get mine through.

An "absolute fundamental concept" is missing in both mathematics and physics. With theory, it's always logic first and science second. What science needs, is a dose of ABSOLUTE LOGIC.

To both, Eric and D.Levi Wing -
I think I have found the desired "absolute fundamental concept" with "absolute logic", though I am still working on the mathematical aspect of it. At least I know now that my comment did get through (the last time I was told in a message box that I wasn't "authorized" to send my comments and whatever I had written simply disappeared). O.K. Is anybody at all interested in what I have to say?

    Hi David

This really sums it all up. Only when we have a practical paradigm can we move forwards and get physics out of the current cul-de-sac. I do, however, query what you mean about time. Are you suggesting that we revert to a simple past-present-future view and away from the more esoteric explanations?

    Felix;
As I stated in another blog entry, “Absolute time” is the actual concept of time (past-present-future) and the measure of time (clock) is the esoteric time concept based on a physical motion of a reference; obviously motion is going to have an effect on the measurement since motion also effects the physical dimensions and the physical distribution of the motions of the measurement device (clock); that’s why we use Relativity!

Don’t use these simple facts if you are trying to get a grant from a government establishment.

David, I agree with your premise that mainstream science has tilted to the side of religious fantasy. I personally think it has tilted to the level of fanaticism just as those in the religious cults have done over the years.

All we can hope for is, just like in the past, for those of courage to stand up and slowly but surely push aside those of addictive closed minds. I also see, today's mainstream physicists like scifi script writers, trying to create the perfect scifi movie, no matter how many rewrites it takes.

I personally think it is going to be tough to reform the mental disorder that is dominating science, politics, and religions these days. I think it will be so tough, that I do not have much faith that Logic can be saved from total domination by the mental disorder controlling the overwhelming majority of those in the upper echelon of our establishments.

It does not matter if the theories of those that think outside of mainstream science are right or wrong, it only matters that we are mature enough as intelligent beings to consider all possibilities.

I'm in 100% here.. mathematics is a language that can, through the choice of axioms and premise, to say ANYTHING in much the same vein that is possible to IMAGINE almost anything. But the physical universe cannot physically do just ANYTHING.. hence the demonstrated presence of 'physical laws" which express boundaries regarding what cannot physically happen -- regardless of what a mathematical equations states.

It is up to science, observation and reasonable intelligence to keep the Mathematized Imagination in check -- regardless if Imagination is armed or no with mathematics.

-t, for example. Reverse and reversible time really needs to disappear in mathematical physics. Stop equating -dp/dt with dp/-dt just because it makes the mathematics all symmetrical and "pretty".
