The mass media, isn't soo massive. It cannot translate into every langauge and loses a lot of possible veiwers because of this language barrier.

The effect that can be observed is a fractured media mass. This fractured media mass can function as a group on in a larger global fractured media mass and so on.

The output of man into other worlds such as the Earth's orbit puts media into a larger space. The global mass media no longer has control over the entire media because the space based mass media takes some of the top people from the global mass media and assigns them to control the space based mass media. This is good and by taking the largers producers...i.e. the largers consumers and pushing them outward from global based systems we can free the demand on the Earth's "regenerative abilities". It refers to abilities that the Earth can clean it's environment if man removes the larger producers, i.e. consumers into non global systems.

These non global systems are undefined and are open to speculation as to there whereabouts.

The ability of mass media to control the majority of global communications is now under threat by the ability of the connected individual as enabled by the internet, as is evidenced when a single posting can 'go viral' overnight. It will be interesting to observe just what opportunities for change arise from this relatively new communication phenomenon.

Because we are such a small population in this geographical location, we are limited in our access by a monopoly, but at the least, we have an access point and I suspect that will lead to change over time.

Or it may lead to having your internet cut off.

San Fransisco has led the way in crontroversy by pulling the plug on it's "customers" who happen to rely on public transportation as a means to survive.

I'm sure you would be able to compare yourself with San Fransican's because San Fransisco is a small island off the coast of Mainland America.
