    neutrino deficits or surpluses

    When dealing with nuclear processes such as fusion and fission, the unsung heroes are truly the underpaid, underestimated, less credited, less glorified, behind the scene worker bee neutrinos. Without them neither fusion nor fission process can be realized.

    Negative evidence of their mysterious disappearances or appearances has mounted since their existence was postulated by Pauli in 1930, subsequently christened by Fermi, detected by Reines and Cowan in 1956. One of these negativities is the where about of the right-handed species. Another is the missing solar neutrinos, 2/3 cannot be accounted for.

    The truth is they are workaholics’ busy working and creating mass and energy out of space-time within inner space of stellar systems. However, when they are just roaming in deep outer space, usually they are blamed for being unfriendly and non-interactive. The truth is they just don’t want to be in places where they are not wanted, for example, during supernova explosions. They unfailingly give us all the 1st warning signs of the onset of these catastrophic cosmic accidents. If they have been steadily working and harmoniously cooperating inside stellar systems then almost all stars would become red super-giants at the ripe old age of several billions years. Without neutrinos the universe cannot exist.

    If they become organized then they help the formation of neutron stars. If they become super-organized then they exclusively formed a black hole among themselves. A black hole is really a neutrino star. It can then be said that even the big bang singularity is the result of infinity of claustrophobic neutrinos. A neutrino (little neutral one) could have no mass but infinity of them should have infinite mass.

    When they exit the nucleus then we get radioactive decays and the terrible effects of fission reaction and chaos. On the contrary, when they enter the nucleus then we should get the possibility of fusion reaction, which promises limitless source of energy and also capable of restoring order, peace, and harmony to the entire universe as a cause of initiating a big crunch back to singularity.

    Antonio;
    I believe the neutrino is a byproduct of the nuclear reactions and not an existing unit or particle prior to the event. There are many theories but as yet no conclusive ones.
    This may simply be a problem in the interpretations of the conservation laws.

    invisible yet there...

    Neutrinos are fundamental particles in a category known as leptons. Neutrinos are mysterious because their presence is inferred through momentum and energy conservation, because they are not visible in reaction processes. Neutrinos must have carried off the missing energy (and momentum) if the total final energy in an event does not match the initial energy (or momentum) of the incoming particles. There exist recent evidence for neutrino mass discovered in Japan.

    From the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) Theory pages (lightly edited):

    A high-energy electron-type neutrino can convert to an electron by exchanging a W-boson with a neutron (which becomes a proton when it absorbs the W boson). This rarely happens. With an intense source of neutrinos and a large detector containing many neutrons, one can observe events with no visible initiating particles that can only be explained as neutrino-initiated processes. What is seen in the detector is the recoiling electron and proton after the process occurs. (Experimental work demonstrating this process resulted in Frederick Reines sharing the 1995 nobel prize with Martin Perl.)

    Thanks for all these resources. But what I really wanted to do is to coax the neutrinos back into the nucleus from where they came.

    Haven't we been played long enough? Now, it's our turn to return the favor back to nature. Or would you rather continue suffering from the consequence of radioactivity running amok?

    At least something's happening! Returning everything back to stillness is counterproductive to the persistant genesis of event potential. Is it not good to continue to capture neutrinos ever more easily? Does it not point to progress?

    Not exactly back to zero entropy, just constant entropy. When your entropy is made constant at this very moment then you stay the same as you are now forever.
