diversity vs. extinction - 05-02-2006, 11:40 AM

The following link is a database of endangered species for possible future extinction:
http://www.iucnredlist.org/
Querying “Homo sapiens” indicates that this species is not in the endangered list. The question is how does a species know that it is endangered? What can they do to prevent this permanent destruction?

Time independence: [∂E(g)]˛=[∂F(a)×∂r(a)]·[∂F(b)×∂r(b)] and Mass independence: a(tr(t)=c˛

I would think Antonio that they could do absolutely nothing at all!Man is the only species that would be aware of that danger, did the last Dodo run and hide from the sailor who wanted himfor dinner? When I was in India recently
I saw three tigers in the wild, these are all severly endangered, yet they know
it not!If I went back next year they may well have disappeared?

kind regards michael.

This reminds me of a poem I wrote in middle school

the beautiful murmur of the finch's call
echoes in resonance upon the walls
the gorillas beauty, both strong and immense
is exhibited fully, from through the fence

they aren't extinct, though they do not roam free
they're an exhibit now for the curious to see

but who, might I ask, fashions zoos for a person?
in case that our species' condition might worsen
not hard to deduce is the fact that we might
destroy, as we've others, ourselves from our plight

Antonio,

They depend on probability and statistics, probably the worst inventions in the history of thoughts. If a species is reducing it's number of members gradually increasing or exponentially, it is obviouslyl in danger, but if it isn't, it's not in danger. The human species is growing it's population, but it is estimated to stop growing by 2050, and stay stable. But if hundreds of unexpected metiorites smash with the earth, humans will probably extinct.

Reading American novelist Tom Clancy's 'The Teeth of the Tiger', surely he meant just the opposite.

Are we on a road to self-destruction? What can we do to stop it?

Based on study, the probability is a lot less than getting hit by lightning. But if it happens, the destruction effect is global.

We all know we are going to die. And there is nothing we can do about it. It is just a matter of internal clocks. The laws of physics won't allow this clocks to move in opposite direction, due to the entrophy of the universe.
cheers

dying does not imply permanent death or extinction but a cycle of birth and rebirth of a particular species.

No matter what the phases came out to be, the uniform waves never changes.

Is that because they are immutable?
