Please do not bunk class tomorrow, you are the next generation of learned people that just might make the difference.

warmest regards michael.
What I am saying is that there is no 'self' Michael. There is only one self and that is energy, we are also energy. Isn't it like becoming one with the universe. Thanks for the thread Michael. It made me realize so much.
And I wont bunk class tomorrow. I've got my internals comin up, will have to impress the lecturers- I'm a hard working studious student!!!!!

I rushed to a dictionary Michael. Still I couldn't understand what you meant. Atonement?

AT-ONE-WITH! at-one-ment.Roughly translated means "we" YOU or the "everything energy I,are the universe itself, and are most aware indeed.

Hope you get triple A's in your exams.

what do you thinkfolks.
According to what seems to be the conventional wisdom in Quantum Mechanics, a conscious observer is necessary for reality to exist. This concept is expounded on in the "The Quantum Enigma: Physics Encounters Consciousness," (2006), by UC-Santa Cruz physics professors Bruce Rosenblum and Fred Kuttner. See related site: www.quantumenigma.com

Bernard d'Espagnat, theoretical physicist and author, best known for his work on the nature of reality, stated that,
The doctrine that the world is made up of objects whose existence is independent of human consciousness turns out to be in conflict with quantum mechanics and with facts established by experiment."

As for a theory of when humans developed consciousness, psychologist Julian Jaynes, theorized in his book, "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" (1976), that ancient peoples were not conscious (did not possess an introspective mind-space). Instead their behavior was directed by auditory hallucinations, which they interpreted as the voice of their chief, king, or the gods. Jaynes argued that the change from this mode of thinking (which he called the bicameral mind) to consciousness occurred over a period of centuries about three thousand years ago and was based on the development of metaphorical language and the emergence of writing.
see the website:
http://www.erikweijers.nl/pages/tran...sciousness.php

So bearing the above ideas in mind, did space-time and matter exist prior to the emergence of human consciousnes? Or for that matter, prior to life itself which supposedly began in some 'primordial soup'?

And continuing on, prior to the emergence of humans and human consciousness, what existed 14 billion years ago? No one was around then to observe anything? But we see evidence of something that apparently happened 14 billion years ago, i.e., the cosmic background radiation from the big bang.

So, maybe the universe is 'self-aware' then, and the universe observed itself?

This is not a new idea, Prof. Henry Stapp of Lawrence Berkeley Lab and Martin Rees, Cambridge cosmologist, have speculated on this concept.

Quote from Rees,
"In the beginning there were only probabilities. The universe could only come into existence if someone observed it. It does not matter that the observers turned up several billion years later. The universe exists because we are aware of it."

So...that's my take - for now - on the subject of consciousness, Quantum Mechanics, and the 'self-aware' universe.

what is your definition of "alive" and "has intelligence"; also

are you hypothesizing that the "energy" in the universe is what we experience as mass (i.e. in the macroscopic world, matter or 'real stuff', like your chair or the moon)?
and if so, is this mass we experience equal to
Energy/(speed-of-light-squared) in your hypothesis?

because as per Einstein's equation: Energy = mass*(speed-of-light-squared).

I sort of understand your initial post, but it seems to me that the Universe is made of of both mass and energy, which are related by (spd-of-light-sqrd).

Lastly, the "dark energy" which comprises about 70-75 percent of the Universe, how does this fit into your "alive" and "has intelligence" views?

thanks,
stevemc2

Thanks stevemc2,we often it seems "strain on a gnat, while swallowing a camel"I understand only that consciousness is basic and primal in this universe, consciousness is
basically all of manifested manifestations,I see ONLY Consciousness, there is NOTHING
else!dark energy.light energy,energy,force,gravity,etc,all are reflections of consciousness
and spring from absolute mindfulness. There is but ONE force, which is universal and absolutely TOTAL and Absolutely INCLUSIVE in its modus-operandi,that being mind=consciousness, light and consciousness are one of the same thing. It is the differing
vibrational rate that casts a shadow and leads to the false idea of many THINGS,there is
only THING,and we are all within IT!

warmest regards michael.
