Welcome jamison to this great forum,our consciousness will
never be superceded by a mere machine,faster calculations,working out complex patterns etc yes,but
never with the depth of our infinite potential for consciousness.

Technology has clearly evolved like, math, to radio, to microwave, and so on (not necessarily an actual time line, but you get the point).
Biology has made great strides in understanding the complexities of life.
Darwin’s theory of evolution aside, humanity and its thoughts too have evolved.
A thousand years ago people could not comprehend a television, and if you told them it will exist, you would be considered crazy, or even worse.
If our consciousness evolves then some day we will be able to comprehend the incomprehensible.
Calculator, computer, super-computer, bioelectrical-machine that learns through senses like visual audio and so on, or incomprehensible at this point in time?

I know what you mean by AI (not human), but have you considered that humans' intelligence is "artificial", via bio-electro-chemical means? I guess this shows that there would be no unartifical untelligence possible, that is, one having no parts of any nature.

My thought would be that it is not the mechanism of our intelligence that is artificial, so much as the perspectives and concepts that we may contrive in our efforts to comprehend the universal whole.

The instruments of our being are correct.

Our reading of them may be inaccurate.

I think our somewhat “artificial” intelligences comes from the randomness of nature. If the law holds true (even if it tapers off as predicted and considering other factors) we will put together a “human made”-nonhuman-consciousness of Physics and software. Maybe far (?) off in the future thoughts like yours here will cause human kind to call it something other than AI (you got me thinking.)

We just figured out a good way to name everything ... Ai does not have that ability of self but has to use an inferior list system for it memory and a little adrenalin would not hurt ..g
