Regarding your comments, Leskey. Was your experience anything like this?



I've had this happen at least a half dozen times over the years and it usually lasts for 15 minutes or so (though I've never had a headache with it). Both my parents have had diabetic problems and I'd assumed it could be related, but that's just a guess.

Yes, my experiences have been very similar to this...like the 'fortification' examples except luminous/sparkly...a very distinct zig-zag arc, that's very distracting. I had the first one 25 years ago and have had about five since. It was strangely distressing so I went to the doctor and was referred to an eye specialist, but no one seems to know what causes it...in my case, I can't even say a change of light causes it. I'm very healthy and have no other symptoms, except the need to stop and withdraw...in the last instance I was able to recognise the onset and do this so quickly that it went almost immediately.

For my fellow Aussie friend: EXPAND YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF PHOSPHENES HERE. Cosmic rays cause a disruption of the hologram from time to time...to those who are more sensitive/susceptable...rotflMao!!!
