social control and Man using Religion as a form of control over the masses.

Now, that is a conspiracy, for they deceptively preach theory as truth, a no-no.

Heh...heh..thats not a conspiracy! Thats a sociological fact, an outcome of a society that creates a Class society specifying there are the superior and the inferior....just a little twist of fate where the inferior are dumbed down by the belief that the superior must do the thinking and decision making for them. No different than the Colonizer and the Colonized. It all involves the same shaping and moulding force...

Well, luckily, I didn't believe them one bit after I attained the age of reason in Catholic grammar school. Elementary, my dear Mikal.

    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

This is far from elementary Austin.

I have been reading in two threads...the Logic thread and the thread on Maslow's theory.

At this point I would like to discuss Transcendence because Austin has broached it, slightly grazing its edges.

Transcendence is "the ability to rise and go beyond." It is as much a psychological process as it is a biological issue.
To rise means to take the intrinsic system to a higher level. What is one going beyond? All that has been conditioned and encultured in: a false sense of self, a badly damaged feeling dimension, a warring mindset and trapped intrapsychic energy. What is one going beyond to?? Their own vital adaptive spirit, which must be accessed. We contain a built-in ability to rise above restrictions, incapacity or limitation. The process is undertaken to possess our own adaptive potential.
All the violence in the world arises as proof that we have failed to access our own spirit and therefore failed to develop our own adaptive potential.

Adaptive potential faces reality no matter how tumultuous or threatening simply because it is our allotted portion and our own individual pattern of adaptive potential. In the midst of this process is found Maslow's "autonomy of self" or self-actualization....

Yes, luckily, I was able to unenculture myself at a young age before it could get grooved. Some of the rest of the young children were endlessly and mercilessly indoctrinated and encultured and remain so to this day.

It's highly unethical to preach mere theory as fact, especially one with no evidence. They don't even say 'seems', 'maybe', or 'could be', but just that it 'is'. Then young and impressionable children believe it.

Now just note that this could also refer to reincarnation, three million Gods, interpreted Islamic concepts or such which you may be 'atheist' to and consider hogwash. I merely go one step further onto Catholics.

    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

You know Austin; these are difficult times we are in!

As Alexis de Tocqueville described democracies in their later stages he saw them as tending to cover the whole of societies in infinity of subtle regulations and restrictions requiring uniformity of thought and action. This is simply the dulling of the minds of the people.

Religion being an institutional system in society with a hierarchy of power should not be examined by their creeds, slogans, concepts and public relations which sustain them. They should be examined by what they produced which was a technique of teaching that prevented the development to focus with hard clarity on the principles on hand, on logical inconsistency or the quality of so called facts presented in any fixed dogma. They simply contributed to intellectual burrowing behavior which has become a national reluctance to grapple with argument and values. Its called creating nations of sheep!

It’s amazing in the face of the above conclusions that today the general mass is overwhelmingly preoccupied with disciplines gravitating to the stirring of the transcendent force.
As David Chalmers, modern day philosopher noted, its possible there are higher level processes within consciousness where such domains as sociology being the study of society and economics being the force pulling, pushing and straining man through his society could only be understood from a state of super-consciousness or the state the transcendent force takes one to.
I look at this as we can be done to, without understanding what is being done to us. The transcendent force may lessen the possibility of the first part (be done to) occurring by ensuring that a necessary level of understanding will be attained to understand what is possible to be done to us.

I would see this as possible because the Transcendent Force is a part of our whole nature and it being a higher human aspiration when achieved leaves us as a collective exploring by default the issue of our our won social violence.

    That's true. They follow.

Yes. Hardly hear any good talk such as even a century ago.

these are difficult times we are in!

Not really. Now we have it relatively easy now. I know you're not old enough to remember the years before zero, but those were very tough times then and all the way back, but you may remember the 14th century plague that wiped out a third of Europe.

Average lIfespan back then was still only around three decades, except for some Biblical characters and their descendants who lived near a thousand years, as I learned in Catholic school.

As for transcendence, existence trumps essence every day, for it is unavoidable and must be deal with pretty much moment to moment.

    Not really......quote by Austin....

Sorry Austin but I may not have brought enough clarity into my statement that these are difficult times.

We are presently experiencing the collapse of all the pillars which supported our civilization. Those pillars were mainly religion, the economy and the political.
We are quite frankly now aware of the real nature of all these forces. Essentially it means the rebuilding of our pillars is necessary and because we have not been experiencing a higher consciousness of these things all together, it is complicating the creation of necessary bridges to create new pillars more sustainable to our civilization....hence I stated these are difficult times we are in....

Transcendence is a leap to a higher potential for adaptation because quite frankly the state we are presently in demands we ensure our existence rather than deal with it from a lower process of consciousness...
