    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

Hi GB...based on my own experience with this aspect we call conscience I see it as existing on two levels. First it is objective connection to the moral laws created by man, however I know conscience can expand subjectively into an inner struggle I see as an evolving processs of free will wherein the struggle strengthened by very energetic intent moves the aspect of conscience up to the level of right compassionate choice and a sense of personal responsibility more connected to the ethical Laws of the Universe....

Survival versus personal growth! To be enculturated creates an unnatural state of mind which entails deeply ingrained thought patterns. Transcendence, integration and evolution of consciousness is the journey to break down those thought patterns (conditioned fears and beliefs) because these limit the potential of our own consciousness system which leave us with a consciousness systerm with limitied cognition and conceptual abilities...
Integration is addressing this on a personal and private psyche level....

I agree. Fears, morals and unknown other elements block some of our input. This creates our bias views and opinions. We progress constantly but unless we know our selves we may not make progression on some unknown elements of our selves. Any time you disagree with something ask your self why as all information should be capable of being accepted and referenced.

    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

Hi GB....why do we disagree with something?

Knowing that conscience can function on two levels we could say that conscience on the objective level is in a state of disorder which does not allow us to accept and reference varying information. However conscience on a higher level is a state of being devoid of disorder supported by the personal power to take charge of your own life and decisions. This state is more open to accepting and referencing all or any information because it is not going to be dumped into a fixed belief system which has already collapsed so accepting and referencing is about critical analysis and gaining insight into information....

We can disagree from our belief system or we can disagree from our own personal power....there is a difference....we could even call it attaining the ability and potential to stand on one's own convictions.....

Hi Val...please do not think you are isolated in confusion. I do believe that for each and everyone of us there is an area of confusion we try to diffuse. I have found that good old patience goes along way when attempting to muddle through the murky parts....

In this thread I am trying very hard to explain with clarity so things explained can be transparent, clear and pure in expression....

I do admire your honesty...its kin to being genuine....

    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

The concept of transcendence can be understood through marking the progress of life through three recognizable octaves and one hidden octave: the latter being gestation which is our cellular development, then birth and childhood, which is our physical appearance (physical body) and the possibilities of our evolving personalities (emotional body) and maturity which is everything from our educational and learning experience, our own world of thought (mental body) developing attitudes to our body, the forming of relationships, to mid-life and old age. The hidden octave is transcendence which holds the mystery of our instinct to go beyond ourself.
The octave of transcendence is a realm which we can gain access to through either a metaphorical death or an experience that takes us beyond our sense of our physical body. These experiences can be numerous; for example through meditation, a religious epiphany, a near-death experience, hallucinogenic plants or drugs and in my own case through the natural inclination to be excessively reflective and introspective.
Transcendence means we carry a potential higher self within us, one we must birth into the world which is the meaning of “"Truly, I say to you: No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of the flesh is flesh…"(Jesus)

Metaphorically transcendence is about the birth of our individual creativity, our individual knowledge of our own survival, the spiritualizing of our tripartite ego system, lower nature consciousness connecting to higher nature (self) consciousness which leads to “self-discipline” thereby leading to intelligence which is ascetic and altruistic. Transcendence is also professed to be psychological evolution to the principle of higher mind which involves adhering to discriminative reason and ethical perception. This is a transition in the psyche between one state of consciousness and being to another state of consciousness and being….

    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

Carl Jung stated that the pressure from within to become conscious is the strongest drive of the psyche, even stronger than the sex drive or the will to power. Jung’s insight into the association of masculinity with the process of becoming conscious is important to understand.
The nature of the psyche is comparable to the Phallus because as a symbol it is life giving and holds the evolutionary possibilities of ego-consciousness. In the deep psyche, (Hero) the psychic life force struggles to be released from the grip of the unconscious (The Mother) only to encounter the demands to live out an (Anima/Animus)unconscious style of thought and behavior that underlies conscious choices, a struggle that will lead to a conscious personality. The individual struggle for perspective finds its source in psychological complexities and ethical quandaries that shape consciousness and to a small measure fate.
For a man the psychological search is to be delivered into a consciousness (Anima) based on an empathic presence and participation in his life. This is an initiatory experience; a mystery lived through until its core of meaningfulness for personality development is revealed. An initiation can be looked upon as a process followed through which an individual gets from one stage of his life to another. This is a process in the unconscious denoting the formation of a strong ego-identity. The essence of genuine psychological development involves a giving up of an unreal youthful fantasy of greatness.
Initiation by the (Anima) or animosity or moods of resentment means submitting to painful experiences of betrayal and disappointment and accepting the pain of these affects is a critical part of integrating (Anima) a certain development of (Eros) a sense of relatedness, an individual style of consciousness which reveals his feelings for his place in the lives of others, so he is better related to himself, his relationship to his fellow human beings and this is to be accompanied by an improvement in the quality and depth of relationships with women.
Jung called the Anima the Archetype of Life because life’s power must be sufficiently impressed upon a man resulting in a conscious attitude and a sense of soul that holds respect for life’s autonomy and wisdom. What is this about?? A man has an unconscious soul so his struggle is to learn how to identify with his nature with the right emotional attitude.
Jung implied that it is the ability to carry out self-reflection that can unlock the human psyche.

The journey of human mammal's evolution from the raw material was recorded and is remembered by RNA/DNA, it then (re)playing it out ‘quickly’ through the nine months in the womb and right on into the beginnings of first consciousness and then further on to self-reflection and growth.

    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

Hi Austin….I do have difficulty identifying myself or others with the word mammal. I am a person as I see others in the same light.

Yes, many studies have been carried out into the gestational, pre-natal period and birth moment and surely they do reveal long term influences that seem like individual idiosyncrasies that we have to work out as we progress through our lives, however I am not including them in this thread.

Jung postulated that psychic growth and maturation stems from an organizing center which seems to be a “nuclear atom” in our psychic system. As he felt it was the inventor, organizer and source of dream images he termed this center “the self” and described it as the totality of the whole psyche. The Greek called it man’s inner “daimon,” in Egypt it was the “Ba-soul” and the Romans worshipped it as the “genius.” In primitive societies it was an inner “protective spirit.”
As Jung pointed out, there is such a thing as “arrested development” so the process of growth and maturation in the psyche is a varied complex process. It is also well known that those who are highly inclined to be introspective have a stronger ability to be self-reflective. Also as Jung pointed out “blocks” to the developing flow of consciousness and development of personality can hinder an individual to know their own inner nature. The development of the ego is to make real the totality of the psyche to consciousness. The inborn but hidden totality of the psyche is not the same thing as a wholeness that is fully realized and lived.

    Re: Consciousness, Transcendence & Integration

Yes, after a certain point, we are much on our own. The 'genius' of this is that we can then adapt better than our other mammal cousins, learning a whole lot more as we go, and thus go on to greater heights as person mammals. No one likes to think of themselves as animal, so they idealize upon it. We have come far from the slime and some brutish ways.
