| Do I know me? In ancient Greece,over the portals of their education schools,were written..
Man know thyself.who are we,I know that I am me,what the heck does that
mean.Me seems to be that which is realitive,that which is projected out
into objectivity,the me that looks back in the mirror,the one that my friends
and family know,then there is this I that is invisible,that seems to be timeless;
that does not belong in realitivity,to know myself,it would seem that,there
would be a bringing together of the two,some how to marry the inside with
the outside.
To know me as I truly am,is the task before me,I hope that I am up
for the challenge.for me would truly like to know I.

| | Everybody enters the discription that "I know Me" Because of the fact that I is, and represents, exactly the same thing that Me. Although the I and Me of a persononly represent the I and Me to that person, for the I and Me of a person, to another person, represents a different think because of the experience is different. But which I and Me is actually the "correct" Person Identity? None. All. All the views of something would make up the total view of an entity, but no view is the sum of all the views, because that view would be a view itself of that view, and thus we would have a sort of russell set, so none view is correct. The I and Me of oneself doesn't represent what one is really, they represent what one is for one self, and for that one this I and me is the one that is the correct, but not for objectivity. This is because one doesn't know oneself completely. No one. Even if you think you do. | | | | The scenery of Tomorrow Join Date: Mar 2004 Posts: 25

It is not logical in the three cases. First, if yourself is what yourself is for yourself, then yourself wont' have all the properties that it truly has, for yourself doesn't knwo yourself completely, as time goes by continually. Second, if yourself is what yourself is to everythingself but the self, then it will lack what yourself is for yourself and thus nto be complete. So we end up tihnking that the self is what the self is for everything including the self. But this gives us thousands of contradictions. For If I am what I am for everything and everyone, then I am stupid, I am smart, I am thin, I am fat, I am tall, I am small, I am important, I am insignificant....This is because the sum of all the positions in respect to a being is equal to all the properties that CAN be given to a being, but the properties that can be givent o a being aren't all necesarilyl properties of the being, just possible properties. And the msot important of the contradictions is that if a being is what the being is for everything and everyone, then I am and I am not, I exist and I don't exist, Sum and no Sum. | | | | 2nd degree Black Belt Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 328

| Re: Do I know me? Thanks Ls for your last comments,who is this me that I am getting to know?
Can be a trifle confusing,methinks!Do I know myself?No I do not,but I am on
a journey which is in effect a "grand voyage of discovery"and I am the captain,the boson,and the cook and bottle washer,all rolled into one.
One thing has occured though,the more of "I" that is found,then the "me" is
somewhat diminished?
regards michael.
