To many, the thought that the universe and all that is therein contained, are simply"Thought Forms"in the infinitemind-mental creations of the absolute, may seem startling, and a sense of unreality may pervade one. This is inevitable, but the reaction will come.To some whohavegrasped this mighty truth there has come a feeling that "all is nothing"But this is merely the negative phase of the truth-there is a positive phase which comes as we advance. The negative phase shows us that all thatwe have considered as real and permanent-the foundations of the universe itself-is but a mental image in the mind of the Absolute, and therefore lacks the fundamental reality that we had previously associated with it.And realizing this, weare at first apt tofeel that, indeed "all is nothing"and to fall into a state of apathy, and lack of desire to playour part in the world. But,then, happily the reaction sets in,sooner or later, and we begin to see the postive phase of the truth. This positive phase shows us that while all the forms, shapes, and phenomena of the universe are but parts of a great show -world,still the essence of all must be Reality, itself, else there would not be even the "appearance"of a universe. Before a thing can be a mental image, there must be a mind to hold that mental image, and a Being to possess that mind. And the very essence of that Being must pervade and be immanent in every image in that mind.Just as you are really in your mental images,as well as they are in you,so must the absolute be in its mental images,or creations,or thought forms,as truly as they are in themind of theabsolute. This positive phase of the truth,is far from depressing-it is the most stimulating conception that one can hold,if we but grasp it in its entirety and fullness.Even if it be true that all these shapes, and forms, and appearances, and phenomena, and personalities,be but illusion as compared to the inner Reality-what of it?Are you not then assured that the spirit within yourself is the spirit of the absolute-that the Reality within you is the reality of the absolute-thatyou ARE,because the absolute IS,and cannot Be otherwise.
kind regards,michael.

While sitting at home my thought goes to the market, naturally my image also goes with the thought, but my body and the ‘real-me’ is at home. the ‘I’ which is roaming in the market and the ‘I’ that is sitting at home are relatively as real as the ‘I’ we see in our dreams. coming out of the dream, the conscious ‘me’ (I) finds that the ‘I’ of dream was merely a fictional image of me. Then we talk of Being in us! What is that Being? Is it the life-force, the soul or the life-principle ‘that’ sustains creation! is ‘being’ separate from the ‘I’ of the market, the ‘i’ sitting at home or the ‘I’ image’ we see in our dreams? Is it an attribute of mind? all these queries are also being raised in the mind, obviously it would be the mind which shall provide their answer too! Then where from these illusive images of the same one ’I’ is coming from? if these are the production of mind, then these are illusions, as reality is never illusive. It remains eternal, permanent in all times, whereas mind has imagination-fantasy-transient qualities.ls.

Ls many thanks for your most thoughtful reply,I agree, reality lies beyond the mind,as
you so rightly pointed out,"reality remains, eternal permanant, whereas mind has
imagination -transient qualities".
However most of us are still firmily entrenched within the minds orbit, and have immense
difficulty reaching "escape velocity"?
Within the mind lies home indeed, but as you say Ls not a permanant one,but one that we
can inhabit long enough to get a fix on our true bearings, which are set beyond mind and
lie deeply within the Life-force itself, which is beyond mind.
kindest regards michael. Humilty, coupled with boldness, surprises truth to
reveal herself? | |
