Does the picture paint itself in our minds? Or does an artist guide the process from conception? Can art exist without an artist? Would love your thoughts.
all these things our concepts, now can a concept exist without
the conceptee??That is the question.

kind regards michael.

Good point, and I think you bring up an exciting issue based on definition. For example, how do we interpret the phrase that says the truth is deceiving? Maybe that means the truth deceives us to wrong conclusions, or perhaps it means that it deceives us to right conclusions, in which case our own self-deception and "mistrusting" of truth would lead us back to wrong conclusions. Maybe the truth is a double trick like that eh? But maybe it's only us who insist on being fooled? Maybe we trick ourselves in how we search for truth, but can we be trickier than that? it's us who are tricky who will define the TOE best.

Question 04-27-2006, 11:29 PM

[quote=pagan3142] what if there was no big bang ?.
just consider the possibility that the universe is part of an oganism (use the human body for example).
if our universe is just a single cell or part of, then this planet maybe is just a single cell. hence the structure. we as insiders cannot see the whole picture.
we maybe a virusquote]
Still being tricky cannot hide the fact that it is a virus that is infecting our thoughts

You can indeed think this and go infinitely smaller and bigger and then you're done with your TOE (and everybody's TOE I guess, because who hasn't thought about this possibility?). Now the only thing to do is prove it and then you're really done, but that's not possible as with all TOE's. The human mind can come up with an almost infinite amount of possible TOE's I guess, but this one I kinda like. It has infinity both ways (smaller, larger) as logical ingredient and as a nice touch maybe we're part of a very big Einstein or maybe a very little one is "hiding" inside one of us...

I think it is very interesting that at a time when the world was counting how many times it could blow up the world, one man was interested in the universe. The universe seems to be able to communicate with people. Einstein was not treated as intelligent by the education system. But the universe revealed it's secrets to him. So for anyone who has ever been treated as not intelligent by the establishment, take notice. The universe does not care what grade you got in Calculus.
Case in point, calculus is based on the change in one thing while the change in a second thing is being considered as well. What about constants? They do not change. You cannot use calculus on constants. The first constant does not change while the second constant does not change and so on and so on and so forth. Delta what? It does not change. But an entire universe moves around these constants.
It expands, it accelerates the expansion. The universe has learned and has moved on to the next level of existence. Where will we be? I intend to follow the universe.
The constants will be there forever and you can measure them till your eyes fall out. They won't change. What has changed,. delta, is the speed of the universe's expansion. The biggest delta of all time. Delta Universe. The change in the universe's expansion versus what? What is on the other axis? The biggest unknown to ever hit science this millenium. What is on the other axis? x axis is delta universe and y axis is delta ?????
It is the bigget thing to hit calculus since Einstein left us.
Delta mass maybe.
We thought we knew the mass of the universe until dark matter. The y axis could be delta mass. The z axis could be pulled back and in an unusual position. Like the arrow of a bow is pulled back, creating potential energy by the simple moving of the z axis back(time shift). Till the z axis is practically pointing at the center of the x and y axis. The zero point of delta universe and delta mass, has the z axis pointing at it, but not in it.
I am a math failure, so if anyone who is good at these things has some advice please feel free to educated me. I need all the help I can get.

I just meant that I hope science in general, besides some basic understanding maybe, isn't necessary to find a possible TOE, because when it is I'm in biggg trouble . For Calculus I have a Z, if that's the lowest you can get that is. Haven't even heard about it since you mentioned it...enlighten me iup...

The beauty of discussion groups like this website is that for whatever you lack, and we all lack, you can ask others for their expertise. I have a very shallow fuzzy grasp of Calculus, but have been tested at a 99% in something, I'd rather not divulge. You are right about science not being required for a toe. But science can't help but want to contribute. Your name, Omni, is a favorite prefix of mine. Glad to meet you, Omni.

Omni is short for a word I once had in my head when waking up and has no special meaning to me other than that. michellemfry isn't a favorite prefix of mine i'm sorry to say , but still glad to meet you too, michelle.
