Since we can establish the existence of an inter-galactic lensing effect, perhaps we should consider the possible existence of an inter-galactic reflection effect. I don't know by what process this might occur, but we should at least consider it. It could be that the universe is not as large as we think. Perhaps many of the much older galaxies we observe, are but the back side reflection of galaxies nearer to us. That view would also appear billions of years older, making it difficult to know when we are looking at two images of the same galaxy.
Any thoughts?
