    I don't think you can have 1D objects that are orientable, I think they must be 2D for that, at least that is how many dim's. I needed for ultrawaves to orient and interact with branes.

    A line running left to right can be distinguished from one running up and down, and both can be distinguished from one running towards or away from you.

    I'm not orienting them against a background, I'm orienting them against each other, and a background emerges from that.
