    Question Re: The Copernican Principle

Thanks Mikal, I am also not exactly a physics professional, but I just know some concepts here and there. There is also something called Gravitational redshift, this happens when an electromagnetic wave travels from a region of higher gravity to a region of lower gravity, the light shifts to the red side of the EM-spectrum.

I don't know which Red shift Dipayankar was talking about

    Re: The Copernican Principle

Thanks Mo....do you have any interesting thoughts on the concept of "regions of higher gravity and regions of lower gravity." Would this be about possible levels of density, skalar grids and waves and such?????

    Re: The Copernican Principle

Well, this can be used to explain black holes, because as the light moves away from a source of high gravity its wavelength increases (or its frequency decreases). So, at an intense gravitational field its frequency will become very less, and so will its energy, and so light cannot escape a black hole.

That's why light will appear redder and redder and slowly the object will vanish as the light enters the infra red zone of the spectrum.

Tired light isn't considered as a valid theory any more, since there are many problems with it.
