    The Universe in a Bucket

Newton proposed the spinning bucket experiment over three hundred years ago. I have a question based upon that famous experiement. If I were to place the universe in a bucket hanging by a rope, and to twist the rope tightly so that the bucket began to spin, would the universe behave as the water in Newton's bucket? And if the universe began to rotate and expand up the sides of the spinning bucket, in relation to what would the universe be expanding and rotating?

Interesting question Wick, prehaps the bucket knows that
answer,or prehaps it pales into insignificance!

    The Manifold of Possible Universes?
Emily: Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
Stage Manager: No. *pauses* The physicists and mathematicians, maybe they do some.

Re: The Universe in a Bucket

    Hello Wick,

I am no scientist, and so cannot supply the terminology and detailed data that you apparently yearn for.

We humans are certainly a bold and questioning species, ever looking beyond the horizon and overlooking that which lies immediately before us.

All of the old teachings, especially those that go undocumented for good reason, advise us that "the answer lies within."

How about parallel universes with a concentric point of origin? That should multiply the possibilities of extra-terrestial life and time travel considerably. Likewise to messing up the math from our present understanding and point of view.

Did I just write that? I was just goofing around....cheerfully admit to being clueless and possibly a figament of my own imagination.

I'm sure some of these nice folks will have some sound science for you.
