Antonio (Yoda);
Though at times, I've been tempted to buy into the conspiracy theories, my work with several scientist have shown me that they are like all of us. The need to find there own methods of dealing with the political structures of both industry and the academic world.
Those in the academic world are pressured to publish papers to justify there positions with the institutions. If you sit down and carry on a conversation with them over a few beers, you'll find they really do not accept the Standard Model any more than the rest of us do. However it is the only working system, thus far, that they have to work with.
I have great admiration for those who dedicate their lives to their profession, and often become annoyed with those who feel a crash course rises their knowledge enough to qualify them as experts.
Antonio; I am not comfortable standing on this soap box. If you would like to create a thread on the ethics and morals of scientist and their institutions, I would be happy to attend.
Thank you;

Dave (R2D2)

PS: Ultimately there is only one real truth. Science should not use the methods of philosophy to convince, they should only use facts. What is really TRUE?
