is the universe analog or digital?

rephrased: ‘Is the universe continuous or quantized?’ Or ‘Is the universe a wave or a particle?’ Or ‘Is the universe irrational or rational?’

The interim ‘what-ifs’: If the universe is a pure particle then it is a point (absolutely unchanging space). If the universe is a pure wave then it is a period (infinitely changing time). If the universe is both a wave and a particle then it is a helix (locally accelerated spacetime but globally moving at constant speed of light).

Analog data are continuous flow from a source to a receiver and digital data are discrete (quantized) flow of information.

Continuous data stream are analyzed by using linear or nonlinear partial differential equations. Quantized data stream are analyzed by using finite difference equations.

To date, the best analyzer for continuous field data is made using Einstein’s field equations of general relativity. These are 16s coupled hyperbolic-elliptic nonlinear partial differential equations.

The most advanced analyzer for quantized data was Dirac’s equation for the electron. Where the concept of quantized spins or spinors was first introduced into QM. But the distinct statistical nature of spin for both fermions and bosons and the often plausible observed duality of wave and particle provided a justification and an impetus for theorists to search for quantum field theories of wave and particle, simultaneously combining continuous and discrete nature of the universe. But the insurmountable difficulties for such a combination of ‘zero and infinity’, IMHO, further justify two definitions for spacetime. One defined locally as quantized space or time and one defined globally as continuous space or time.

I believe the universe to be rational, particle and quantized. The other side is just a falacy. But I don't deny that there are irrational numbers, like pi, or wave, like sound and heat (although I'm not sure)...

Smile mentalisation is the medium signalfyer.

A very good question Antonio, but I think that the universe is neither analog nor
digital, although they both function through it,I would say it is more,to coin a phrase,"Mentalised" and that mind stuff acts as an information carrying medium!

kind regards michael.
