I would think it consists of layer 7. It knows nothing of lower layers. Layers exchange information via parcels that meet a standard. Layers do not communicate with each other but operate as clearing houses. The whole thing is an electro-chemical factory that has developed thru natural Selection to meet the current challenges of survival.

But then again, how do I consciously know this ?

Consciousness 'IS' all of the things that we are aware of , what we see and experience . It is not what we feel, that is just a chemical reaction inside our physical bodies caused by the presence of the consciousness. It is what's behind the veil.

Cosmic consciousness implies the recognition of a First Cause, the one and only uncaused reality.

It is the energy emanating from the geographic center of infinity.
