Religions' love thy neighbor ideas and such are good, echoing and matching our civil/moral laws.

The rest of religion goes into imaginative speculation over the fact that some stuff appeared as the origin of our universe (or was of forever that came from someplace else), inventing what "some stuff appeared" wants. This causes problems in its variations, for the speculated 'goods' define speculated 'evils' at the same time.

If "some stuff appeared" is nothing more than...somehow the ether became "dark matter", then the"dark matter" flowed together and ignited creation. That is fine with me.

Some mindless physical process ignited the origination of the universe, for, if it would have been of Mind, then we would have the further problem of how the Mind itself was originated/created…

I think you ignore the possibility that this could be a universe of universes and that your "mind" argument is not really relevent to us because we may be a fairly young universe.

Mind argument still applies for supposed first cause, no matter how far back… skipping over intermediary big bangs from repeated big bounces, secondary universes, universes of more universes… etc.

Hi Jag. The U.S. as well as other nations still fight wars among themselves i.e abortion, various science research, gay marriage among others. These wars may not be fought in a military fashion, but are being fought nonetheless. As for the U.S. and other so called peaceful nations suffering the ravages of war only when jeopardized is (in my opinion only) quite often preplanned for personal economic gain. The most recent example I'm aware of was created by Halliburton (one of the largest defense contractors in the U.S.). Between 1995 and 2005 it has supplied (for a profit) so called rogue nations such as Iran, Iraq and Libya with key components for nuclear reactors. At the time of some of these sales V.P. Dick Cheney was the CEO of Halliburton. Halliburton has also been awarded supersized no-bid contracts to rebuild in Iraq. If we put the above example as well as others aside the problem with a single representative government for all mankind is what works as a possitive for one section of humanity may not be a possitive for others. As for turning military forces into police forces I see no difference.

Mikal, I agree the brotherhood of humanity is different from world government. If the brotherhood of humanity was in accord government would be unnecessary.

I do my best to respect the beliefs/opinions of others, for this is how I would like to be treated and hope I have in no way offended anyone. I instinctively feel pursuing a personal spiritual path brings an inner bliss which in turn brings peace to all.

Dolly, on ToeQuest, we don't expect that our beliefs, like mine, have to be respected. These are just ideas and are fair game on the TOE. We are used to going over ideas. No one knows for sure what the universe is all about. We just like to guess and have some fun along the way.

Let's say we were able to make the jump to the brotherhood of humanity by some spiritual awakening. Maybe some cosmic dust or peace ray comes down and erases all of our confussion and hatred. What then? We still have to take out the trash, clean the latrine, grow our food, and deliver countless other services. We will still need some kind of management or administration to organize all of these necessary activities. If everyone plays along there will be no need for police.
