    Cool Gravity's Opposite: Levity

    Levity is defined as the opposite of gravity. It's almost obsolete, and hardly mentioned when discussing gravity. I imagine a simplified correlation between gravity as the speed of mass(9.8 m/s) and levity as the speed of light(3.0 x 10^8 m/s).

    The hypothetical graviton is the particle of gravity while the photon(leviton) is the particle of levity.

    According to relativity, only relative motion exists. And of course, E = mc^2. Might there be a similar equation, other than Newton's, that describes gravity as the opposite of levity. I fear it has been hiding in plain sight all along. One that allows the solution of which to make gravity attractive or repulsive.

    Ask yourself, why isn't the opposite of gravity(levity) ever discussed anymore? Things do hang and spin in mid-air or space, do they not.
    Be gentle on me with criticism, I just felt the opposite of gravity was just as relevant as gravity. This is not a theory of everything. This is one little part of a larger picture. More like a missing piece to a 1,000,000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

    If gravity is a property of space, levity is a property of time. Maybe. Your opinions are awaited. Remember, levity becomes more significant the further away from the earth it is. I think? I'm really nervous about my logic.

    Hi, Michelle.
    I’m not scientist, as you know, so I will express my humble opinion without complex, freely, if you don’t mind.
    Generally there are two basic different opinions about gravity:
    ---It’s attraction between two bodies according to the formula f=γMm/r2
    where γ is gravitational constant, M and m masses of objects, and r distance between them.
    ---I assert that the gravity is striving of matter to the center, i.e. it isn't attraction, but it is concentration of matter to some center (for example: the matter placed within “gravitational field” of Earth is striving to the center of Earth, but the matter placed within “gravitational field” of Moon – to the center of Moon, but that doesn’t mean that the Moon is attracted by Earth and vice-versa).
    ---I believe that the space is anti-gravity (you can call it - levity) and assert that all bodies have their own spaces, but when bodies are united, their adjacent spaces do the same, i.e. everything that is placed within the “gravitational field” of Earth, has common space, which begins from the center of the Earth and spreads up to some distance spherically. Space has direction, Space makes the solid matter, placed within its bounds to concentrate centrally, but attracts the matter, placed outside its bounds (for inst., the space, adjacent to the Moon attracts the matter of Earth, but the space adjacent to the Earth attracts the matter of the Moon).
    The matter itself can be in two different forms: 1.contracted and 2.expended:
    Mass is the main characteristic feature of the first,
    Speed is the main characteristic feature of the second;
    Correlation between the mass and the speed of any separate amount of matter is following:
    m~1/c, or m~1/c2, but mass is inverse proportionally to speed, i.e. when any separate amount of matter (i.e. separate amount of matter without outer influence) loses mass, it gains speed, and vice-versa. The ultimate form of solid state is solid matter after ending of free fall (i.e. at relative rest); the ultimate form of speed is speed of light:
    I.e. Not even any object can move with a speed of light and have mass at the same time.
    When the matter is in expanded state, it strives from the center of planet in opposite direction, but as for light (it is highest possible speed, i.e. “quickest” spreading of expended matter), i.e. it can spread equally in any direction without obstruction, i.e. freely occupy any part of “empty space” in any direction.
    For visual effect see below:
    1.The first animation- "At the beginning of the world in case of two bodies"
    ---The direction of space is shown with blue arrows
    ---The direction of contraction (concentration of matter) is shown with gray arrows.

    2. The second animation - When the process of forming of universe is complete, we got planets with adjacent to them spaces and the matter strives just to the center of planet, in the area of adjacent space of which it is located.

    ---Little pebbles - direction of striving of contracted matter: free fall (gravity).
    ---The blue clouds – direction of striving of expanded matter: free rise (levity).

    Thank you for the reply. I need to learn how to diagram like you do. That was great and you found a way to explain levity and gravity at the end that I loved.

    You're welcome!
    I learnt macromedia flash mx by myself (with my restricted abilities in English) some years ago.
    By the way,
    Happy new year to you and your family!
    Regards,
    Merab.

    Talking Thank you!

    Hah, Hah, Hah! Thank you. That was brilliant! Man, that crept up on me and really sent for a loop. I definitely have to get me a free version of Macromedia Flash if one exists. That would be so much fun!

    Expansion and gravity

    Michelle;
    In looking at the universe as a whole, it may be that the opposite of the process of gravity is the process of expansion. It may be found someday that all the forces of nature are the result of this fundamental process of the universe. The cause of expansion may be the same as the cause of repelling like charges and the cause of gravity may be the same as the cause of attraction of unlike charges. All basically quantum wave interactions.

    baudrunner;
    Dreamweaver Studio MX is up to Flash 8.0. My son is a beta tester for them; I'll see if he can help you with a free source if you're interested.

    Hello zeroca! I like this.

    Then again I notice this is similar to certain concepts of the Magnetic Monopole.

    There is a lot to digest here, I felt particularly comfortable with this detail, logically, and perhaps intuitively too. OR the other way round.

    I do like this idea zeroca and want to chew it over in my mind some more. Thank you.

    Is there a clearer word than levity that would more clearly express your idea? For this is not simply a word meaning "not gravity" but so much more. And the concept of interaction and juxtaposition looks like a valuable contribution, and I sense a need to not merely grasp this slowly and thoroughly but to label it to show more of the essence you describe.
