Possibly, as light is energy, it possibly does exert some amount of pressure...

Quite right,if it were possible to harness the entire suns energy, and place it within a torch, what do you think would happen to your arm when you switched it on????

kind regards michael.

Cool Re: Matter is everything in a void:

contrary to the last 3 entries, I believe that matter IS energy (simply slower and denser)

kind regards michael.

Re: Matter is everything in a void:

i'll state something outside this thread, (sorry); i'm planning not to do this anymore in the future... But there's something i would like to say (hope you don't mind.

i realize i have some responsibility on what i'm stating.

i think physicists are always very rigid when they say something; in the future i'll try to follow their way of thinking. They are kind of 'conservative revolutionaries'.

Each time i posted something here, i know more (that's why i like to do it)...
i leave as an other person; deeper, knowing more, ... My mind is getting a larger perspective, and that's thanks too the talking with you guys.

In the future, i'll try to be open for everything; every belief, every theory, ..., try to be more respectfull...
Until now i think i always have been too radical in my statements (which i consider a prove of a too narrow perspective.)

i'm planning to enlarge it. There are many book recommandations which appear on this site; (which i'm reading now...; cause of course it's difficult to construct anything from scratch).

At this time i've proven that i do know something about it (i understand these things; most of my posts have been my own interpretations on what i've read); and that's exactly what i'm planning to do in the future...

i have advantages and disadvantages. The advantage i have is: i have a background on this, but i also have unlimited information on these matters. Another advantage of me is (like you can see here), i always try to too be as honest as possible. i won't try to bring people "on the wrong track"... Consider that a promise.

There is however one disadvantageous phenomenon about me (hope you can laugh with it...) and it's called 'slow-processing- brain'. (hope you understand).

i've been experiencing that i can discuss about it; but also that from me it's like all little bits and pieces without really being a consistent whole... which is of course not my purpose. The purpose is to reach a consistent whole.

i do want to warn people that something like fundamental physics is kind of very 'capricious landscape'. So i think we should be careful what we claim.

i also know this is public. i know there is some competition-spirit also, which i consider to be healthy.

But i would also appeal (if you wouldn't mind) to the countries of toequesters not to over-emphasize this competitional spirit. (Watch out, i'm not saying it's bad!). The reason i say this, is because these matters go very deeply.

i also would appeal (if you don't mind) to toequesters to keep on being open-minded, respectful, and keep on understanding this is public.
To Harmonygirl, i would like to take this opportunity to apologize having exaggerated on the 'money'-issue by stating the opposite to provoce reactions; i say you're completely right when you say that was a bad idea.

i think i've experienced this myself a bit now...
i would appeal to talk together, open-minded, (not over-competitional)... i think together, we would be much stronger.

i also have to say i don't intend to find a TOE myself (as a matter of fact; it would already please me enormously if someone would find something new). So be critical, dare to say your opinions, ...
myself i'll handlle them with respect.
My goal is to try to contribute to this manifestation of wisdom.

i would also like to say to people of my own country they are always welcome here; (but then i would also appeal to toequesters to keep on being respectful of course.) i'm lucky i'm not a book-writer on these matters, or something like it... (the only thing i have to defend is the name which is on top of my posts).

But when some scientist would come up here, he kind of risks his reputation. When people start to make them ridiculous in public, it's bad. They would chase very competent persons away.

Myself i'm sorry (hope i don't disappoint you), but i'm going to do this step by step; i'm gonna take my time (that's why i resist a bit against competional spirit). i do this intentionally.
Last but not least, i also want to ask to people not to wait for me to state things (because it puts me under stress to state without having thought something through to the bottom; this is the quest for TOE).

i think i just have stated this too abruptly (i think i have to be more careful (sorry)).

As you see i want to emphasize relativity, because of the many predictions which eventually became true.

i consider it to be A truth.

Anyway; Einstein once said 'I'm always happy when an experiment fails.' (He means of course that the road to a new theory would be open, when their would be proven some condition(s) in which the present theory would be wrong).

Re: Matter is NOT energy.

We can know that matter is nothing but frozen energy. Hence why should energy not have the same characteristics as matter?? In fact I really also would want to find out if energy has density, possible friction???
