Pioneer 10 & 11 anomaly not so anomalous - 04-20-2007, 08:47 PM

It seems to me that the Pioneer anomaly, where the spacecrafts' transmissions display a Doppler effect which when interpreted makes them look like there is a force which seems to be dragging them back, is not so anomalous after all when you think about it. After all, the constant influence of large bodies circling the sun in this solar system is going to have a major effect on their radio transmissions because space is mutable and changes in the location of those large objects influences their EM characteristics, and these effects will only persist and become cumulative as time goes on. It's not the craft which are slowing down, but the affected velocity of the radio transmissions whch are giving that illusion. In the meantime, the craft are actually increasing in velocity as the influence of near bodies diminishes while that of large bodies in adjacent solar systems increase.
