Dear Dipayankar:
The story is familiar, whereas, wasn't that sort of a subjective evaluation of time on Rip Van Winkle's part?

Although he'd lost track of time, he was older - his beard was correspondingly aged, along with his body...

Hi RP;

What if Rip was traveling at close to the speed of light during those 20 years?

Best to you RP,

Pat

neutralino;
I know what you said, I’m just jerking your chain a little.

LQG uses the concept of quantum foam and also suggests that gravity extends into an alternate dimension beyond our own. The QF concept is OK but the Higgs Boson concept is better. The alternate dimension concept is just pure BS; just an attempt to create a place for a deity within the science philosophy or it’s just a case of stupidity.
Before we invest time and money into such theories we need to have a glimmer of possible experimental evidence. All string theory does is state that everything is beyond our ability to measure or that it exists in some other dimension. I see it as a promotional scheme to sell more of Dr. Greene’s books and milk the government cow. (I want my $29.95 back)

Pat;
Not quite the right image. Energy is sometimes just another name for FS in the chaotic state of wave motion often called space or Aether. Is this out of M.E.Durgon’s book?

So, *that's* the time and money you've invested into string theory!

I'll be honest and say that I know hardly anything about LQG. I don't agree with you that persuing string theory is a complete waste of time. Afterall, any new theory seems very strange when it is proposed. Besides, even if string theory does not prove to be the ultimate answer, and it remains to be seen whether this is true or not, beneath all the physics still remains a beautiful new mathematical theory, and I'm sure that some of the mathematics developed will be of use in the future, either for the pure mathematicians, or for developing a theory of quantum gravity.

I'm impressed you are right, it is from Durgon's book.

He does have a disclosure that it is not mainstream physics, more philosophical in nature.

Best,

Pat

neutralino;
Touché! I consider it a donation to the scientifically impaired individual. You can add kookoo Kaku’s hyperspace to that category also.
Using money from anything other than private funding is a political issue beyond the scope of science and mankind.

The mathematics of LQG suggests fluidic flow dynamics for gravity. Most of the math is excellent in defining gravity but does nothing for explaining or relating to the other forces of nature. Would anyone care to suggest otherwise?

Pat;
I thought so! A lot of work went into his book; too bad he didn’t have a formal science advisor to help him out.

At last, we find out what the 'void' is!

Right, however the changes were not felt or known to him, neither was it of any relevance to him till he woke up... thats when he became a part of perceived motion...

Do you think void infers an alternate dimension FP? The void; it’s not that complex of a concept unless you’re a child. Would you care to comment on the concepts of the thread theme; motion?
