for a cycle, then the universe as we think we know it,is no more! Then motion is no more,
until the next cycle begins.

| | Re: Motion Quite right dipayankar; if we were able to stop motion it would also destroy physical structure. The same would be true if we limit the degree of freedom to one dimension.
Michael; your lack of science knowledge is overwhelming.

of Turkey next week.

| | Re: Motion Dip; I suspect that the article was a bit sensationalized in that Bose-Einstein condensates have strange characteristics. If you think of them as being quantum conductors of light then you can say that when the fields are held in a constant sustained energy state, light is stopped. It is similar to the semiconductor functioning of MOS FETS in that controlling the “field-effects” allows you to control the flow of the charges.
BTW: this can only be done with pulses and not with a continuous light beam. A continuous beam is reflected when the B-E condensate is held in a fixed quantum state. Michael; Have a nice trip and a Marry Christmas.

David... is it possible to hold EM fields in constant sustained energy state?? Arent they supposed to be alternating else the wave dies off... I could be wrong here. But that's what I feel.. Quote:

| | Re: Motion TINA when I said atomic I also meant sub atomic.. anyways I stand corrected. My imagination says that when motion stops, everything just degerates, as there is no light, every quark and sub atomic substances just degenerates.. Quote:
