    re: Inherent Viral Purpose

Yes, TP, it appears purpose is indemic to all life as Mikal's link intimates so adroitly.

To digress: the "AIDS/HIV" pandemic seems to be the result of supressed immune systems due to mulitple virus infections, labelled under this dual banner, and thus creating a huge market for pharmacological experimentation and intervention.

The following site is the property of a practicing, medical speicalist and researcher who now wishes to share his wide-ranging research into some areas of scientific hypocracy. You may find it of interest:

    re: Inherent Viral Purpose

Unfortunately, this is the rare instance that us Mack users find ourselves in as I can't open this without Windows...

So, if it is established that a virus may have an inherent purpose, than the most simplest of life forms in our biosphere have what the more complex forms have, inherent purpose.

The purpose may not be known by the holder of it, yet the purpose remains. In our lives, we may not know our purpose until the end. We can then look back and evaluate how we affected others within our biosphere.

Our inherit purpose may be the easiest and the most difficult to understand, simultaneously.

A virus need not understand it's inherit purpose, however, we should. Each virus maintains an important, yet short, message within it's purpose. Listening to this message is important for our survival and well being as a race. If we aren't tuned into their purpose, we might be fighting a certain natural order red light. What might the virus be telling us?

"Don't have sex with other animals outside your species!" .. Care of certain virus promoting V.Ds.

"Don't venture into jungles where you shouldn't go... I will certainly kill you if you do!"... Care of certain rainforest killer viruses.....

"I must help this animal survive!" ..Care of wasp virus.

You get the idea. Each purpose has a short message to help direct more complex life forms live in this biosphere.

A simple flu virus may be saying, " Quit stressing out!"

So, fighting viruses might be a misjudgment on our part.

Don't kill the messenger....read the message.

Yes, Mikal. I learned much about this subject. I clicked "Thanks" but it didn't take.

I always thought Lion Fish where somewhat uncommon and lived in tropical waters.

It is strange how they multiplied. A purpose fo the Lion Fish could be, "I'm beautiful, but deadly, so keep away!"

New “Intelligent Design” Evidence Underlies Theories of Evolution

Sandpoint, ID — Your proposed evolution from fish or apes as a “natural selection” based on “survival of the fittest” just suffered a mathematical meltdown. A new book by award-winning health scientist and internationally known author, Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz, reveals the “intelligent design” of the universe is certain and based on a determined mathematical matrix.
Science has proven facts about species selection and evolution without providing the underlying mechanism driving the process. New evidence from the fields of mathematics and physics, published in Dr. Horowitz’s 15th book, Walk on Water ($16.55; ISBN: 0-923550-37-2), proves life, like the cosmos, follows mathematical laws and frequency wave patterns. Thus, “intelligent design” is both biblically certified and scientifically validated.
“By integrating recent revelations from the fields of mathematics, physics, and water science, and comparing these with Bible code determinations of the original musical scale, we have proof that nature crystallizes using sound, water, and sacred geometry,” Dr. Horowitz says. These forms operate mathematically akin to following the path of least resistance in a Divine plan or universal law. That plan, or law, is the reverberating ‘Perfect Circle of Sound™,’ impacting water and precipitating everything.”

In Walk on Water, Dr. Horowitz advances the mathematically determined core creative sound frequencies of the universe—the vibrational energies moving all matter. These are precisely the tones of the original musical scale revealed in 1999 with the decoding of the Bible’s Book of Numbers. (See Dr. Horowitz’s earlier work, Healing Codes for the Biological Apocalypse; ISBN: 0-923550-39-9)

Much like the chicken or the egg debate, creationism versus evolutionism each advances respectable rationale. The gap is bridged with the determination that nature’s common language is musical math. This math and music follows a certain, previously hidden and unheard, pattern. By revealing and confirming the pattern, “The Perfect Circle of Sound™,” as Dr. Horowitz calls it, “intelligent design” is proven.
According to Walk on Water, researchers have now determined the mathematical, arguably “spiritual,” energetic mechanism underlying the movement of myriad “sacred geometric forms” throughout nature. The “fractal” cosmos is one example; another is the spinning and vibrating double helix structure of DNA. Dr. Horowitz demonstrates these behave according to musical mathematical mechanics.
“‘Intelligent design’ is obvious throughout the universe,” Dr. Horowitz concludes. “Respectable scientists and creationists will integrate these new findings, stop arguing, and learn by these examples. Once we understand “intelligent design,” and rely on it, more people will
    harmonize with nature.

You're spot on here, tp: all life is a package of information. Unfortunately, in many cases, our society in it's ignorance, has been incapable of recognizing the purpose of the message contained in each and every package - reacting (against the will of nature, creating deleterious consequences), instead of opting for considered inaction.

As Mikal's link conveyed, the intricate, longstanding relationships of successive generations of native peoples and their environment have been discredited and treated with contempt by Western society. Their ancient birthright and deep understanding of nature...so much free information...lost.

So, science, at enormous cost, now pursues the answers that were once ours, free !

    Re: Inherent Viral Purpose

    Hi all....another interesting read....

Deep viral impact: Virus infections in deep-sea microbes feed the world's largest ecosystem

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deep-sea sediments contain large reservoirs of carbon in the form of microbial biomass, and the dynamics of this ecosystem are only now being established. A paper in last week's Nature showed that Archaea predominate over Bacteria in an extensive sediment prokaryote community. This week Danovaro et al. report on the impact of viral infections in this ecosystem. Data from 232 sediment samples show that virus production is very high. Viral infections cause the abatement of over 80% of prokaryotic biomass production — close to 100% at depths below 1,000 metres — thereby releasing huge amounts of dissolved organic carbon into the deep seas. In waters otherwise short of resources this injection of nutrients is particularly significant. Viruses therefore appear to play a major role in global biogeochemical cycles, deep-sea metabolism and overall functioning of the largest ecosystem of our biosphere.

    Re: Inherent Viral Purpose

A magical sentinel, watching over the rainforest, a virus might be.

    The purpose message...
"This place, and all contained within it, is an important mechanism for the survival of all life; so important that I've been posted here to protect it against any and all invaders."

Ebola and Marburg.... two deadly rainforest viruses...

Each of these viruses are named after the place they were first discovered. The Ebola River area, and Marburg, Germany, are not their birthplace. So, the "sentinel virus", protecting the rainforest, may infect and kill others, thousands of miles away, whom have never visited the rainforest.

So, viruses infect species, not just individuals. These viruses warn a species with the message to stay away.

Many sci-fi novels speak of scientists altering the genes of a deadly virus to make it stronger and weaponized.

There may be an alternate message within the virus..." If you mess with my inherit purpose, you will surely pay the price."

As I said before TP....maybe the ebola virus to the rainforest is what our immune system is to us..

Displays "purpose" designed in by whatever intelligence designed all working systems of creation...

    Re: Inherent Viral Purpose

Are primates paying for our ignorance? We deforested and hunted
    much in the rainforest...

The "empty forest syndrome" affecting much of Asia and Africa is spreading rapidly to other parts of the tropical forest world, Bennett says.

Bennett points to the recent seizure of two shipments of scaly anteaters from Sumatra bound for China where they are used to make soup. Fourteen tons seized were in Sumatra, Indonesia and 23 tons seized in Vietnam, more than 7,000 animals in total.

In Vietnam alone, 12 species of large animals have gone extinct, or virtually extinct, in the past 50 years mainly due to hunting, she says.

The chytrid fungus, meanwhile, has wiped out hundreds of amphibian species worldwide.

Chimpanzee displaced by logging in a cage in Cameroon (Photo by Filip Verbelen)

Disease can compound the impact of hunting. The Ebola virus, for example, has reduced gorilla populations in northwest Congo by up to 95 percent, chimpanzee populations by an estimated 83 percent and threatens great ape populations elsewhere in Central Africa.

Says Bennett, "The implications of all this for loss of ecosystem function are still not fully understood, although many studies show that tropical forests depleted of large vertebrates experience reduced seed dispersal, altered patterns of tree recruitment and shifts in the relative abundances of species.

"The loss of top predators and other 'keystone species' has a disproportionate impact on ecosystems and can result in dramatic biodiversity changes."

So, we destroyed the ecosystem of the rainforest, and viral outbreak runs rampant among the apes.

Ebola's message is sent to many species.
