Re: Does homoeopathy work or not?

I went to a natropath and she was able to cure me after 1 visit. I spent years going to doctors, none of them could provide a diagnosis or cure.

All she did was something with a machine and a couple points of pressure on my body and wahla, all I needed was some acid in my stomach. I don't think the pharmacutical industry has the acid producing vitamin the naturopath has.

Have a look on the following link on homoeopathy:

    skepp.be/nieuws/who-warns-against-homeopathy-use

Also have a look at www.senseaboutscience.org.uk/pdf/SenseAboutHomeopathy.pdf

You know, this really diminishes my belief in homoeopathy.

Re: Does homoeopathy work or not?

I am sceptical about homoeopathy, Michael.
I have trouble to believe that an illness will just get cured just by believing it will.

I read that just believing it will heal you, and taking the homoepathic treatment, will just cause a placebo effect.

Re: Does homoeopathy work or not?

    What is the placebo effect?

A sugar pill doesn't work in a clinical sense. But when you take a sugar pill and you believe it works, it will often bring relief or cause reduction in psychological stress. Reduction in psychological stress can cause a biological, biochemical or physiological effect; this effect is the boosting of the immune system. This causes accelerated recovery from wounds and viruses. So you feel better.

P.S.: Also conditioning can cause this effect (boosting the immune function). Conditioning is for example past experiences of medical treatment.

Let's admit it, homoeopathy is nothing more than a placebo effect; homoeopathy or a sugar pill, it's the same.

Re: Does homoeopathy work or not?

I think lots of diseases are "between our ears" and people sometimes need a placebo.
Homeopathy is nothing more than a placebo. The whole philosophy behind homeopathy is simply wrong.

It's typically like a belief system, to feel ourselves better.
