I seem to think that life is a game where everyone wins compared to those games at the casinos where the house always wins and the average players always lose.
Time independence: [∂E(g)]²=[∂F(a)×∂r(a)]·[∂F(b)×∂r(b)] and Mass independence: a(tr(t)=c²

Life is a game of chance, in that we are born at all, lol, so perhaps not much different than a casino, at least to start. From then on, it's still a gamble, as for the first few years of our life, we have little or no control over what becomes of us.

Once we are teenagers, heading into young adulthood and responsible for our own decisions, the game of life becomes very interesting, as we choose our companions, occupations and entertainments to name but a few.

The average player does have a better chance of success in life than in playing the casinos, I would agree, unless they are a risk taker in other areas of their life.

So tell me, Antonio, if it pleases you, have you learned about casinos through research or from practical experience?

I've been to the ones in Atlantic City five times. Each time I was there I lose all my allocated gambling monies in less than an hour at the Black Jack tables. Some learned once, some twice but me fivefold maybe because I used five fingers for winnings and five fingers for losings and also maybe lefthanders like me always lose? However, in the game of pokers, five of a kind if the Joker is wild always win the pot.

All of the games of cards are based on having an excellent memory and knowledge of the statistical probabilities of combinations of cards. You should be very good at the mathematics involved.

How good are you at reading the body language of other people?

More importantly, how good are you at hiding your own 'tells'?

This would be more important in Poker, where the bidding can take several rounds, than in Blackjack, where the general consensus is 'never hit seventeen', lol.....although sometimes one takes a chance and gets away with it.

LOL......with a nine or face card up, that can work to your advantage, as the dealer is most usually going to try and build on sixteen, unless he's very sure of himself in reading body language.

Ah well, Antonio, you can always go with pure random luck and try Bingo. It's a great way to meet ladies, for any of the gentlemen who might be interested in making new friends. Besides which, you don't have to spend a fortune and carry the conversation by yourself, as the Bingo hall provides a 'safe date' environment, lol....

And even in Whitehorse, for those who dare to live dangerously, there are 'back room' Poker games.

While I don't participate in either of the opportunities above, it being a small population, I know of people who do....

At this moment I neither have the cash nor the time to indulge in any game of chance. Tomorrow I have a food stamps interview with SS office.

In Canada, we have social assistance in the form of Employment Insurance, for people who lose their jobs, and Welfare as assistance for persons who are in need for other reasons. We have subsidized housing and many other forms of aid and health care, yet there are still difficulties for persons of certain age groups, those with physical and mental challenges, etc.

There is also an interesting group of people who are able, but do not desire to participate in society as it is structured, and generally earn their way by diverse means, for the most part legitimate.

And then we have the players, who believe that their end is justified by any means......

A lot of illegal drugs for such a small town.....

Is there a shortage of employment where you live, as in much of Canada and the United States?

Yes, there is, and to make matter worse Texas is increasing its population by about 40,000 per month. Most come to the metropolitan areas like Dallas.

Since you note that there is a shortage of employment, are you aware of what reason so many may be coming to Texas each month? Is there speculation of some project imminent? Perhaps the social benefits are better than neighboring states?

Here in the Yukon, we have had real estate speculation keeping property values very high, as there has been consideration of a pipeline from Alaska, yet again, a speculation that has waxed and waned several times in the last three decades. Of a more tangible nature, our health care and assisted living for seniors is among the best in Canada, and Social Assistance will pay a family of four, a sum of $2,500.00/month, which makes it very hard for small business and the retail sector to be able to offer competitive wages.
