    Re: Spiralling consequences of Consumption

Well now Michael, firstly, us humans most certainly have alot to answer for in the case of depletion of our wonderful earth. However, heat waves and ice ages have for thousands of years ruled our universe...long before humans arrived. Nature, death and rebirth have been recycling through time itself. This does not however excuse the excelaration of damage humans do to our magnificent floating mound of earth!
As nieve as it sounds/is, i used to struggle with the knowledge of bad things happening and felt even worse at not being able to control it.
I am an optimist, and still hope for humanity to unite...
But my little iner speaking clock bells me from time to time...reminding me that......through the ages, it's been survival of the fitest, the "I'm alright Jack" attitude does not help.
And whilst i'm here (oh I'm on one now!)
Human nature still takes my breath away and has me in awe of behavior that i cannot find sense in, even to the ends of ones own benefit. Hmmm...
Think i'm in the wrong forum for this....

Absolutely we need concrete action, the main difficulty is in getting enough heads
of state to sit around the table to discuss this!

I guess the EU has made a good start. Other countries like Japan should take the clue and stop rampant whaling..

That is what we need to.however there are so many in power with vested interests,
they put profit ahead of any cut backs,as this would bring in less income!
