I have titled this thread the spiralling consquences of consumption,or more aptly I feel
"The Malignant Vortex,we have all heard of global warming, the massive hole in the ozone
    layer.

One of the headlines today on Google news is the total collapse of fish stocks by 2048.
the oceans are being vacuumed and sucked dry.Polar bears have around 25 to 30 years
before extinction, desertifcation of once arable land is rapidly increasing, the Sahara desert
is expanding at an alarming rate.

All over the world, alarm bells are ringing, there is a maligant force gathering momentum,
and this is greatly of our own making,Like the "domino effect" of countries falling into
communism, this domino effect, will bein the form of a malignant vortex, already its effects
are being felt, steadily this will increase, and the intensity of the spiralling winds will get
    much,much worse.

Many are of the opinion that we are already past the point of no return!

What if anything can we do?Can we lobby our individual goverments?Send them emails?
I would be most grateful for your thoughts on this VITAL subject,

Can we help our world, and sever this malignant tumerous twister!!!!!

    regardsmichael.

    Re: Spiralling consequences of Consumption

    LOL!!!

ahahaha... Michael this thread is funny. It has become your personal monologue. I do care about global warming and all the negative effects on our planet earth, but as you put this thread in spirituality I'm not into all that.

However, I bought the spanish version of the Scientific American of november, and it was all dedicated to energy (here it comes a month later cause they have to translate it, I don't know about how it's like in Britain) and it's renovation. An interesting article was about hydrogen, which even though it's dangerous I think in three two decades we will have for sure the technology to make it secure, and I believe it should be the substitude and final energy form we use. It is efficient, renewable, and doesn't damage nature. The only thing is that in compensation it is very expensive to use salty water (a lot of electricity is used in the process of taking away th salt). We should advance on that.

Another article supposed that we don't fine an apropiate alternative energy, so we go back to using carbon to produce electricity. One may think that's even worst, but they explained a whole plan by which the carbon wouldn't emit CO nor CO2. There was an article about using nuclear energy but having to face two problems: radioactivity (which they can eliminate, cause they will develop a process by which radioactive waste would be radio-un-activated) and the use of it in war. Other interesting articles were on energy safe up and eficiency grow, renowable energies (bio-fuels, fotvoltaic cells, wind, wales...), etz. It was generally very good and I strongly recomend it if you are interested.

Many thanks foryour input Amigo,it was not meant to be a monologue, thought that more
would show some interest in something that will effect all on this planet, prehaps i am
    mistaken in this notion!

This is not anything to do with spirituality or religion,it is to do with global warming my
friend!Have you read the thread,a malignant vortex is NOT spiritual!

Thanks for the tips will look them up.

    regards michael.

What are you going to do, starve yourself? Sorry but I just scarfed down some leftover tuna noodle casserole I made yesterday. I didn't feel like going out to dinner and eating i'm sorry Thai with my husband.

But back to consumption. Nothing is being wasted, everything has been here since the entirety of the universe, it's just in different forms. We will never have too much or too little of anything. Don't worry about it.

I know what you are saying is true sillysally, but that is within, without is where you hear
the cry of the hungry child!I am not worried about it,but feel it needs a mention on occasions, who knows someone may just do there little bit?

I wont starve myself this season, but I am grateful for what I have, and remain mindful
    of those who have zilch/

A little bit? As a mother, I have always felt every child to be as my own, I don't discriminate. It's a life devotion, not something that is just a little bit of experience. One day I may pursue the plan I have deep down in my heart, it's been simmering for a few years now. Donations are all fine and dandy but when it comes to teaching children, they need to see the experience of self responsiblity.

Nobody likes the feeling of being hungry, it's painful and makes us grumpy. I've met some very irritated children before, they lived in a place called Shootka. It means dumping place where Gypsy live. It was toxic and in the midst of deep cultural hatred, muslim and christian.

So where does the problem lie? Food won't solve any problem, it's the children that will make all the difference in the generations to come. That is the heart of the matter.

Thank you sillysally for sharing that with us,never being a mother myself,i do not understand the feelings involved, but I do have the feelings of a man,and compassion
has been known to wash over me!

I have met hungry children on all this worlds continents, and have where possible
helped a little, and have brought pencils, books, and pens to schools where children
    could not afford them.

We can all do a little bit towards helping,as a giant retailer here in Englands
slogan says "every little helps" I will not name the store in question.

May I take this opportunity sillysally to wish you and all your family a very
    peaceful and happy Christmas.

    regards michael.

I cannot agree with you more. Our greed has made sure that the world is not left fit of life after 50 years.... Its high time we as normal mortals take up this issue and fight it out...

I thank you dipayankar for your words of support,we can I believe all make a difference,
It has to start with someone, let it begin with me.
There are millions of me's in the world,if we all do a small part, then it will grow into
    a real difference made.
If nothing is done our childrens children will not survive, and choke on toxic fumes.
    regards michael.
