SPIRITUALITY: What It Is

[Infinite Consciousness]

The term 'spirituality' is not to be confused with:

(i) Spiritism, or belief in the existence of spirits apart from matter, which
when disembodied, haunt the nether regions as ghosts, or the lower
planes of the astral regions as angels.

(ii) Spiritualism, or belief in the survival of the human personality and in
communication between the living and those who have 'passed on', in
the form of spirit rapping, planchette writing,etc.

(iii) Mesmerism, or producing a state of trance by the consciously exerted
'animal magnetism' of the operator so as to subordinate the will-power
of his subject.

(iV) Hypnotism, which produces a kind of deep sleep in which the
consciousness is suspended and the patient is made susceptible to the
suggestions of the hypnotist.

SPIRITUALITY, on the contrary, is the science of developing Higher Consciousness in Man on the level of the soul, and making one transcend from mere body consciousness into Cosmic Consciousnesss and further on into Super Consciousness, so as to to enable one to understand the working of the Divine Plan.

Thanks William for the thread,for me spirituality is in knowing myself,and seeing the
connections between all apparent diversity,it is the inherit spirit within,that portion of
divinity that is embedded into the core of us all.And with inner tuning,via meditation and
yogic practices,we can tap into those higher conscious centres,and begin to feel the
inclusive nature of reality.

Receptivity is a scientific term which accurately describes how we receive a mystical experience.

In the physical world, when we think of receptivity we think of the clarity of reception of waves of light and sound transmitted by a sender to a receiver.

We think of a television receiving signals from a television station, or of a radio receiving radio waves. The clarity of the sound and picture depends on how finely the instrument is tuned.

There are various factors that can interfere with reception. Similarly, in the realm of mysticism, receptivity is our ability to receive the waves of divine Light & Sound flowing from the source, Infinite Love.

The transmitting station is our spiritual adept who beams those waves to us so our soul can be connected with the Creator.

Our job is to prevent anything from interfering with our ability to receive the spiritual transmission of the Light & Sound.

Infinite Consciousness is omnipotent - omniscient - and omnipresent i.e. present everywhere at the same time beyond time - our attention is our means of not only tuning in to our Infinite Consciousness but of fine tuning our awareness as the focus of our attention for optimum reception of the Light & Sound.

Unfortunately, many of us meditate and our mind is going ten thousand miles a minute. We sit in meditation, but our mind is thinking of our problems at home, of how to increase our finances, of what we will do later in the day, or of what we need to buy at the market.

We are sitting in meditation criticizing others. We are thinking about how this person has hurt us, and how this person is trying to get the edge over us. Anytime we thinking of any of these things, we are not in a state of receptivity, and we will not get the maximum benefit. We will not experience the waves of love from the eternal ocean.

If we wish to experience the waves of love, we need to be in a state of receptivity. We must tell our mind that it can think all it wants after meditation, but that during the meditation it needs to be still and let us experience the bliss that is our birthright.

It is the freed soul ( human consciousness) that has to experience "awareness" at varying levels, from realization of the "self" to that of "Cosmic" and ultimately to that of "Super -Cosmic " or God.

Our "awareness as the focus of our attention" is either tuned to the physical-material universe or to the Light & Sound through which we then experience the true "Elegant Uni-Verse" of Infinite Love.

Consciousness is omnipresent but we are only aware of this when our attention is focused on our consciousness not on the world of matter. If we take the L representing love out of the world we experience "Word" i.e. the Light & Sound or Infinite Love Of God ! ! !

Through the attention we tune in and through focusing that attention in the single eye we become aware and are receptive to the Light & Sound of Infinite Love. The more finely we concentrate our attention the more we are tuned in and the more aware we are.

Our awareness as the focus of our attention within us is the microcosm and by reuniting with the microcosm we can then experience the macrocosm or "Super -Cosmic" Consciousness.

We must understand the difference between consciousness and awareness; then it would be easy to understand the reality of ‘existence’. Soul is said to be embodied with three attributes, truth-awareness-bliss, corresponding to existence-being-beauty (bliss). Awareness as such is an attribute of Soul/Reality/God, and is not directly related to Cosmic-Consciousness, unless both are equated as the same---which is not true.
Each unit in nature---sentient/insentient--is embodied with conscious (as consciousness pervades in all) ---which is local i.e., individual. As rocks grow rock, trees grow as tree. Every variety of life has its ‘history’ embodied in its seed: a mango seed grows as mango tree and so on. The composite conscious of each unit in ‘existence’ is known as cosmic-consciousness. But it is bereft of the quality of ‘awareness’. Consciousness as such could be the ‘life-force’ of the insentient nature. It is the ‘conscious’ memory of the nature/creation. But there could be many, many other creations in the infinite vastness in which all universes along with their creations---gross, subtle-casual, subsume. In ‘existence’ the seeds of each creation project/manifest according to their latent ‘history’(memory).as the conscious in a mango seed grows only a mango tree, similarly the seed of creation (COSMIC-EGG) manifest in correspondence to their conscious-memory---latent in it. There is nothing innovative in these projections, as these are merely the duplications of there ‘original-self’.
A realized soul is Aware’ that he/she is divine are embodied with the same attributes as that of the divinity.
Consciousness is the ‘conscious-memory’ of the material manifestation. It is not embodied with divine-awareness. All creations are conscious, but not aware. All human beings are conscious of the fact that they are human beings, embodies with the qualities of senses-mind-intellect-conscience-wisdom, but not all are aware of their being divine.
Existence is the entirety of ephemeral ‘existence’---the consciousness in all its three phases’ i.e. gross, subtle and casual.
Truth is existence of ‘One-Reality’, ‘That’ is AWARENESS; Its attribute is bliss. Realised-Self is ‘that’, who is aware of his/her divinity and who is always in the state of bliss. In nut-shell;
External Consciousness vs. Internal Awareness
Consciousness is related to only the material objective Jagath, whereas for the Divine-realisation/‘knowledge,’ it is always the Awareness.
Consciousness is of ‘Jagath (ephemeral-world)
Awareness is of Divine

Being our authentic selves is expressing that which is latent within us,which is Divinty,and
its expression being spirituality,this though is at the core of our being,there are many
layers of illusion and deception that patrol the surface of our self awareness,and it is only
by rigourous self honesty,and inquiring endevour,that we reveal the authentic spiritual
being that exist behind the masks of varying persona,that vie for our attention.

Spirituality is simply being your true authentic self,not what you think you are,or wish you were,but your authentic self,where the inner fire of life/spirit,shines through and reveals
that radiance which will illumine the outer body.

Spirituality = intentions in the steering of spirit/energy( physical ) and more specifically steering spirit/energy in ways that is in support of humans and the ecological environment that sustains them.

..a) justice, fair play, morals all fall under guidelines of how to steer the energy for the individual, the family and the greatest number of human family in that sequence.

..b) sacrifice of one to save many is one of those choices that is certainly a spiritual decision for the individual(s) who may be choosing to sacrifice themselves, yet likely to be controversial when some one else is making that choice of whoi is to be sacrificed for a greater whole...and this also relates to circumstances alter cases.

Simple right or wrong decisions are probably not as common as the complexity that arises from the myriad of possible circumstantial scenarios. Rybo
