Pat,
If, when you tranced yourself, you were no longer Pat, who or what were you? In the statement, "...it was MY illusion and I could shape any way I CHOSE"...who is "I" here? Whose illusion was it? If Pat...your ego...your persona disappeared, who was left to be free...in the sense of doing..acting?
When the type of occurrence that you describe has "happened" to "me", I have, indeed, felt a sense of unbounded release...freedom from, not freedom to.

"not2too" is an illusion and illusions have no agency. "FREE TOO" implies a duality (free also...a multitude of free entities) which is not there, as does "not2too", a play on words implying non-existent duality. These are all words and concepts which have no independent existence.

Dvaita ( Devanagari:द्बैत, Kannada:ದ್ವೈತ) is a dualist school of Vedanta Hindu philosophy. [1] The Sanskrit word dvaita means "dualism". [2] This school was established as a new development in the Vedanta exegetical tradition in the thirteenth century CE with the south Indian Vaishnava theologian Madhva, who wrote commentaries on a number of Hindu scriptures. [3]
In contrast with advaita (non-dualist), the most influential and widely followed philosophy expounded by Shankara, Madhva (who is also known as Madhvacharya) maintains that there is an eternal distinction between the individual self and the absolute. Dvaita ( dualistic) schools are proponents for the theory of free will. [

P.S. Too each their own | So...how to decide? Flip a coin? I think that rigorous inquiry leads to Advaita, but that we must act "as if" we are the doer anyhow.

Best,
not2too | You decide by making a choice using your own free will. Best to you not2too, or should I say best to me? According to the philosophy you believe I am schizophrenic Uncle Walt posting to myself and I'm not aware of it. Pat P.S. If you really are " THE DOER " please do wake yourself up and enlighten the rest of yourself.

Hi again not2too; I guess my image is that we are all part of God similiar to a fetus being part of the mother. While being part of the mother and totally dependent on her, it is still a unique person capable of limited freedom; such as kicking, punching, sucking its thumb, moving, grabbing its mothers organs. I feel we are dependent on God in a similiar manner. I have limited freedom to move, sing, see. punch, embrace, etc. But I'm still in God's womb, eating of Him, breathing Him, etc. Now when I'm delivered ( die ) I don't know if I go back to oblivion, become reincarnated, absorbed by Him, go to heaven/hell or whatever. I just believe that here and now I'm embraced by His Love in his womb. Best, Pat
