do they exist?
have you had one?
what does it really mean?

I had a few but one I remember quite well. I was in a coffeeshop and looked outside and I saw a car and from that point it was temporarily a deja vu. I think it has to do with your brain making a mistake (yes indeed ,my brain made a mistake). The scene you see is transfered to your memory before you're consiously seeing it. When you're consiously seeing it it's allready in your memory and you think...hey I allready saw that once before.
deja vu does exist, I too have had them, and the meaning... well that's a secret
suffice to say it may be significant
and I don't believe it's due to a "mess up" in the brain. Somebody who believes that obviously doesn't understand how consciousness and memory work. Memory is just the after image of a conscious experience, and thus something can never be filed into memory before it is consciously experienced; that's just contradictory. classic example of a "scientific" brush-over

I've had experienced it myself, and I think maybe it has to do that we have things in our brains that we still don't understand or control. maybe we don't even now they exist, but they have incredible abilties that if we achieve to control via evolution, the world will be extremely advance. amybe, we can predict things in the future...........or maybe we do have a future-present memory, because there is no actual time direction, and we have an d are really goin in both directions.........
With conscious i mean that you are aware of it. Suppose you are talking to someone and something happens outside the conversation. Let's say someone walks by but you're not aware of it in spite of your eyes registering it. Isn't that in memory then? Then the day after you again talk with the same person and he says the same thing and you don't pay as much attention because you allready heard it and at the exact point in his sentence the same person again walks by and your eyes register it again ,but this time you are aware because you're not as preoccupied with the conversation ..then wouldn't that feel like a deja vu?Originally Posted by subversion
no, I think I would remember that I saw the person the day before.
It happened to me many times. Should have made a record of them in a diary. It can only mean that Einstein was right about spacetime being the topology of a single sided Moebius surface.
do any of you know what this is called?........
I many times have dreams (not that it looks as if I had one) and when the thing I dream happens to me, then I realise I have dreamed it!
and it happens several dozens of times.............
