    Wisdom through the ages.

Is the wisdom of yesteryear the same as the wisdom of today ?

Does anything ever change? And if things do change- is that change any different ?

More to the point, if nothing ever changes, why do we want to change anyway ?

We cannot change that what does not want to change.

Moreover: there is no-one to make a false division between 'imagination' and 'reality'
they appear as one undivided movement in consciousness.

Here, the idea of separation is born, the choice between image and image,
as if there was any essential difference, and that is when an idea of a "dream" and an idea of "reality" are imagined to be different...identification of images.

In reality / imagination - It's all ONE and it's so wonderful to live this 'one seamless' innocent flow.

    That's one definition of wisdom.

'' Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others '' ....said the Buddha!

This forum, these topics, this game of life, it's someone to throw the ball back and forth with,
that's what it's all about... sometimes it's better than bouncing it off a brick wall, either way the ball comes back,

and it's still just a ball, it is what it is, and it's all it needs to be, ...nothing else...

    A self sustaining feedback loop.

To my mind the criteria for Truth needs to shift from what is observable/measurable

    to 'what doesn't change'.

Thank you (TseTse) for the inspiration, Melanie:

The solid line represents yang, the creative principle. The open line represents yin, the receptive principle. These principles are also represented in a common circular symbol (☯), known as taijitu (太極圖), but more commonly known in the west as the yin-yang (陰陽) diagram, expressing the idea of complementarity of changes: when Yang is at top, Yin is increasing, and the reverse.

    Re: Wisdom through the ages.

We go through many many changes, only to realise, nothing ever changes.

Supreme freedom and liberation only at zero point.
This requires no reasoning, no calculation, no learning, no practice or discussion...
no thinking or activity of any kind.
Just a radical honesty - a willingness to live in non-resistance to what is here in each moment
and be true to truth as it appears to us, instead of what we believe it to be.

    ......

    From the Book of Changes.

'' For at the heart of Taoist practice is alchemy, turning the malleable lead of the physical into the immortal gold of the metaphysical. ''

    ......

'' Some day, after we have mastered the winds, the waves,
the tides and gravity we shall harness the energies of love.
Then, for the first time in the history of the world man will have discovered fire. ''
