    Re: There is no god

The need to position ourselves, in relation to the universe, requires some points of reference. There has been some scientific suggestions that we are genetically endowed with a 'belief gene', so to speak.

Whether we name it 'God', 'Nature', or something else, matters not.

The need to 'connect' is part of our inheritance.

Belief systems and rituals also serve as social organization and/or population control.

That which we build our foundation upon and chart our course by would seem to be more than an overactive imagination.

My muse is nature. God has tolerated my respectful indifference of the use of a titular head of religion, thus far.....

I do find it intriguing that we can use the concept of mathematics to discuss other conceptual ideas. Add decent music, and you can even hold my attention for a while. Not liable to improve my math or prove the 'God' issue one way or another, but still, a good time, lol....

    Re: There is no god

It appears I have nothing solid to say on the subject because all my thoughts and opinions on it may or may not have been created by God.

On the other hand, if someone wants to define God as having all sorts of specific properties and having done various things in the universe etc. then that's quite possible (maybe even likely or close to a certainty), but that wouldn't really be the version of a God that created everything.

Once again though, my opinions and logic etc. may be entirely irrelevant and have been determined by God, so it would be illogical for me to believe I have an ability to discern whether or not God exists.

Ditto me a copy of that sentiment. That's quite a fascinating subject to explore in the meantime. (The question of God's existence could (ironically or predictably?) be one that lives on for precisely as long as God is often assumed to have existed)

    Re: There is no god

I honor my commitments, and I have learned not to make promises.

    One may keep a commitment.

Promises are right up there with 'never' and 'always'.

I strive to harm none, as they harm me not.

    Beyond that.......the unknown.......

hmm Steve the universe was a lot smaller in the observations when define was being made. It should not be held against them for the small trespass ... G.

Taste is experiencing our own nature... Good food, good sex, good music...ohh good times, whatever you want it to be...

Yet Melanie, one should have a bit o' respect for others desires and ideas...

That only requires a bio o' patience...
