Indeed. The only thing that we can change is our attitude, and in that changing, the experiencing of our own life becomes changed.
The easiest, and at the same time, the most difficult thing to do, in my opinion, as we ever seek to change the externals, and cannot, although we may dabble a bit with the landscape, lol....
Even then, I can plant my garden, paying close attention to the rules that govern nature, and yet each seed will grow following it's own path.
Identical seeds, identical conditions, yet some shall thrive mightily, while others languish, and no obvious hint as to cause.....
So many paths to the same destination,
would, but I could, experience them all...

Happiness is a personal experiencing, and the means and conditions to attaining same are only known to each person, although we may falsely seek to find same by emulating the actions of others.
Yet the ability to experience happiness has a biological component, in that the neurological capacity or pathway to know such experience can be imaged, as we continue to learn more about brain function.
Measuring and defining the subjective is a fascinating exercise, not without controversy....

Mehmet Atalay at Stanford University has recently published a new interpretation of Kan'ts subjective/objective observations about experiential aesthetics, being the ground of naturl law and morality, philosophers have been looking for, for years.... Here's a link, see what you think__LINK LINK
My daughter is finishing her graduation thesis, based on the new natural grounding of these ideas...

Good information, bad timing.
Too many demands on my time at this end for any serious contemplations, at present. Am using the forum for stress relief, and grounding, so not much assist to any one on the serious science for a while. I'll most likely get my kit organized after awhile...
Nothing but fear and common sense ever holding us back, or so I was taught.....
Congratulations to your daughter, on her pending graduation. I somehow expect that her thesis will be a fine piece of work.
