To a believer, god is everything. There is god in everything he sees. So, to a true believer. God is invisible yet existent.
To an atheist, god is an institution. God is particular. So, not so much alike.
To dissent, we need to provide a form. So, that we can refuse that form..

Yes, I saw Him. He looks a bit like Graybeard.

In a way yes,and so has everyone else, all that is,arises out of that which IS,when you see a golden sunset you see the face of God,when you look out into the starry night sky you also see the face of God,we have all seen God,and the saddest thing is that we know it not.

Stars are stars and the sunset is the sunset.

Thanks michael.
We can see God's form yes we can, it is everywhere - but God's very essence we cannot see.
Since all 'things' have been named, so too has God. But God is nameless and formless.God is (no thing) appearing as (every thing)
However, No 'thing' has ever been seen - 'things' are only known, by the only knowing there is, and that is (The ONE with the Knowing)

God can also stand for good, orderly, direction, that I have seen plenty of in this life time,I remember the years I spent working with alcoholics and drug addicts, some of these souls would seem to be hopeless helpless cases, yet some of them managed to turn their lives around and recover, many of them said they admitted defeat and were licked, they said they were beyond human aid, that the help came from God and they had a spiritual awakening as the result of this surrender and indeed did get Good,Orderly,Direction.

Even if one mediates, ego is tripping up some who give such special importance to the self—its supposedly grandiose origin, meaning, and destiny. This self-importance notion leads them to claim that stuff itself is holy and divine and that they, great as they are, must be of God. They want Intelligence to be behind intelligence but then they place themselves at the dead end of not having INTELLIGENCE behind Intelligence, etc. They went to the complete wrong direction of having more complexity to be the answer for lessor complexity, rather than more simplicity, as even ever seen. These humans are vainglorious, their ego of special self meaning admitting no humility whatsoever.
