Hi all,
does anyone have any (philosophical) ideas about Planck's Constant (not Dirac's Constant) vis-a-vis TOE ?
Thanks,
Mark

I was just reading a few things about Plancks Constant and TOE![]()
(in the book "Scientific Genius; the 20 greatest minds - by Jim Glenn)
It suggested that No Theory of Everything will emerge; or worse, the ultimate understanding will be written in inscrutible mathematics.![]()
Plancks constant "exposed new paradoxes concerning intertwined discrete and continuous properties of matter and energy, simultaneous particle-like and wavelike behavior"...
The uncertainty principle.
I am a physics novice, but I find it peculiar I was trying to learn a few things on this subject, and stumbled upon this thread and some paragraphs concerning e = hv.
Quantum Imagination... Chaotic Time...
Theres so much I don't know![]()
An assertion is Zen only if it itself is an act and does not refer to anything asserted in it.
ZC, I will try to pick up this book, but I actually think the TOE will be simple, just something that was in front of us that we didn't see or didn't question...this is a gut instinct of mine...
The first is only interesting if it is the beginning of something. The first is not interesting if it is the only - Djanet Sears
There are a few paragraphs I found in the book regarding TOE, HarmonyGirl. I was looking for stuff concerning gravity, and there it was... 'coincidently'Originally Posted by harmonygirl

It describes 20 scientific geniuses from Aristotle to Linus Pauling![]()
A good bit of history and hard science. Good pictures and graphs..
Bought it at Barnes and Nobles few years back.. (Crescent Books, 1996)
Funny, no women mentioned...typical. I think Madamme Curie was pretty amazing!
and shoulda' been included.
It makes a great Coffee table book. and theres lots of interesting bits in there as well.
Pondering...
Curie ( Ci ) - measures radiation: 3.7 x 10 ^10 disintegrations/second
(...in case anyone was wondering, forgot, or just looking for a sentence to read)
