Lao Tsu said,"know of the Yang,but keep to the Yin,be like a ravine unto the empire"
and following in the same line of thought,"without desire there is tranquility".

[quote=mkirkpatrick;33599]Lao Tsu said,"know of the Yang,but keep to the Yin,be like a ravine unto the empire"

Good quote Michael; I know in my older age my desires are decreasing and my tranquility is increasing.

Now to report on some further research I did.

Im sure most of us are familiar with Capra's book , The Tao of Physics.
Well here is something else, I guess Indian philosophy influenced Heisenberg with his work on physics.
And Chinese philosphy influenced Bohr. In fact when Bohr was knighted he incorporated the yin/yang symbol as part of his family coat of arms.

So R.P. and Michael a great thread for any one wishing to plumb the depths of reality.

Further research, this time into the ether( aether ).
I guess Einstein had second thoughts on eliminating the ether.

" Einstein in later years proposed calling empty space equipped with gravtional and electromagnetic fields the "ether".( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminiferous-aether ) Now that makes sense.

And now a little quote from the Glorious Qur'an, for our muslim friends.
"And the heaven, we have constucted it mightily,
and it is surely we who have vast power, AND KEEP EXPANDING IT."

I wonder why in the bible and koran God uses the plural we or us?

Best to all,

Pat

EAST MEETS WEST

With an open mind Pat, east meets west in a space called equality.

E=W

E=M

I Ching equals Einstein.

All is one = energy equals mass.

SPACE:

There is no such thing as empty space.

Space either divides or unites, it is up to you.

Look up to the sky tonight, is it empty?

Are the stars you see divided by darkness, or united by darkness?

Space is not the darkness that divides the stars, but rather only the unseen light that unites them.

Between east and west, as well as between the stars, is the light of space, the light of unity, the light of equality, the light of one, the light of EWEM.

Fill the empty space with the light of truth.

How do you see space Pat, as only a void?

Thanks,

=

Oh no MJA,

I don't view space as the VOID.
Two seperate and distinct entities.

I would no more compare space with the void, than I would view space as infinity or time as eternity.

I thought it was you that had the difficulty of distinction. And therefore according to your theory wouldn't SPACE=VOID?

Best to all,

Pat

Pat,

So we know how you do not view space, so how do you see it?

My view as previously stated many times in this forum is simply: space is the truth of equality that unites all things.

Do you agree?

Dear MJA;

I see space with my eyes.

And I do agree without space you have No Things. As things need space to be.
And I'll even agree that space unites or is home for all the particles.

Its just the part where you state " Space is the truth of equality " that I have no idea what you are talking about. Sorry.

Best to all,

Pat

Pat,

If it is only the uncertainty of measured difference that divides us, then there inlies the flaw.
Futhermore, if you remove measure from the equation of you and I,
all that remains of that equation is = or the true space between us.
You = ME
=
All that divides mankind from the rest of nature is the same as you and I, man's flaw of measure.
Without measure all is equal or one.
Including you and me, nature, and the space between.
Truth!

Again I'm sorry MJA, but I'm not following.

I'm sure you have a clear picture of this but I don't,

I do know that science had its beginning when Aristotle started classifying things to point out their differences.

Without this classification and indeed measurement, we would still be living in the caves.
Maybe that would be for the best, but its not our reality now.

I hope I'm not frustrating you with my stupidity, but I just don't understand. I might need additional enlightenment to comprehend your statements.

Best,

Pat

Thanks for asking Pat,

Equality is not easy to comprehend in a world divided by the flaw of measure.

Try this Truth:

If it is only measure that divides ourselves as well as all of nature,
Then it is the cause of our inhumanity, and the effect of our own demise.

MJA;

Last time.

I find nothing wrong with mankind or humanity and no demise present or future. It would be like me critizing my 9 month old grandson for not being able to read or write.

You seem to be in such a hurry for mankind to reach perfection. Give evolution some time to work its magic. ( like maybe a 1000 years or so )

Best to all,

Pat
