Re: Big Crunch or Big Rip?

Good question. We need to then define time versus space. How are they related?

So coming to your earlier post, no part of the body can be cut else the body will die.

You cannot define them in this universe as separate things.

Time is a degree of freedom in addition to Spatial ones we know.

Yet, to a beam of light, Time is akin to a Spatial direction.

Only one part and that is the heart. A person can be brain dead and still live like a vegestable.

Re: Big Crunch or Big Rip?

So in effect a photon can travel in the time dimension as well. Will it then become invisible to the spatial dimensions??

A vegetable is as good as dead. In a quark, if we try cutting a part off, I doubt it can exist independently...even as a vegetable.

Quarks and leptons are all fundamental elementary particles of matter and antimatter. They cannot be divided any further at present accelerators energy.

Re: Big Crunch or Big Rip?

I thought strings are postulated as the basic constituent of all matter / energy. By the way has quark been observed as yet?

No comments, I am one of those multi-dimensional string believers. Quarks are not observed in single flavor isolation. They are observed as 2-quarks mesons or 3-quark baryons.

Re: Big Crunch or Big Rip?

This is an irony. We know quarks exist. Theoritically strings also do exist. But do we know what relation quarks and strings might have....
