I learned Chinese at age 4 when my paternal Chinese grandfather started showing me how to write those animated characters with the righthand instead what I started using the left. Now I asked myself why I ever learned since I have almost forgotten all of it: reading, writing, and talking. Now I really prefer learning mental telepathy.Originally Posted by divx

Moving back to the topic...
If you were kidnapped and released in the middle of China, where no one speaks your native language, you need to learn the Chinese language to get around better. It could be a matter of survival.
Learning a second language, in general, helps to disassociate the thing from the label. And that is good because it helps you to look behind the curtain.

And how do you eat rice with chop sticks anyways?
Very slowly?
Are chop sticks a simple dietetic aid?
Learn the language, lets first learn to eat!
