We have mapped the genome but don’t fully understand every aspect of each gene. We cant completely design a human on a computer just yet be we are getting closer.
We have found that simpler acids may be able to work just like dna to structure an organism. Our own rna is an example of this as it plays a more important role then we previously thought. Some life forms may rely on methane rather then carbon to survive, much like some methanophiles. These life forms would use a simpler acid if not several acids to structure the organism. The findings that simpler acids can perform the same task as dna has changed our view of how we look at life. It really is an amazing time for microbiology.
Our intelligence and even prospective of life is shaped by the interactions in our brains by various different chemical and electrical processes. If another life form has evolved a different structure for their brains their own prospective maybe completely different then ours. Thinking of different possibilities. Also perhaps another life form may see by means of electro magnetic or gravitational waves. This would also change the rate at witch some technologies would have advanced for them. We may have nothing to fear from an alien life form as they may not even be able to survive the tempters of earth. Acceptable tempters maybe in the range of -240F. So much to consider and yet life always finds a way.

Although not extra-terrestial (although that too is still a subject for debate), the biological difference between the sexes is only now starting to be examined more fully.
Beyond basic hormones, female brains do work differently than male brains.
An interesting comment greenbug. Electromagnetism may explain a lot of the subtleties that underly the feminine principle in all of us. Much to ponder.....Also perhaps another life form may see by means of electro magnetic or gravitational waves.

*An interesting comment greenbug.* Electromagnetism may explain a lot of the subtleties that underly the feminine principle in all of us. Much to ponder.....
You know I was wondering why you might have looked at this in a feminine way, so as I was rereading I noticed another spelling error ‘witch’.. If I spent half as much time writing some of these posts as I do thinking about them I might not have as many mistakes. Then as I was rereading the above line I couldn’t take it seriously any more too many puns or subtle clues to my mistake. But I like the comment and I was wondering if you would express more on the idea.?
Yeah I hear a mans brain has a vibration that is much like green jello jiggling. I don’t know if I’m more disturbed by that comment or curious about the taste.Beyond basic hormones, female brains do work differently than male brains.![]()
Hello greenbug,
You seek a pun where I intended none.....lol.
Such is the beauty of psychology. Once sensitized, your subject is never quite sure......relax, my intentions are benign.
I was taught to walk away from my writing, if time allows, and then return and reread with fresh eyes. You have some interesting thoughts, and a moment spent on composition, clarity and accuracy will greatly enhance your credibility with a wider readership.
For some reason, our society is snobbish in such matters. Likely because in the past, only the elite were allowed access to education and women were excluded from the halls of knowledge. Rightly or wrongly, the form of expression is sometimes judged even more harshly than the content, although the true observer sees beyond such form and convention.
Some links follow which reference the topic of my earlier post regarding the subtleties of the feminine principle in us all.

To quote Wick, we are all electromagnetic beings, perhaps of greater and lesser conductivity and resistance.

P.S.- Be thankful for all teachings. That anyone honours us with the most precious resource they have, their time, is a wonder, to my mind.
For myself, I am still learning to accept the negative reinforcement with the same grace as the positive reinforcement.
*.....and I do mean "reading". You are correct. In a former time and place all educated women were regarded as "witches".
Beware Spellcheck. It will give you the right spelling of a word, but not the correct context.
Complete understanding of human genome comes where and when all diseases of life and death conquered.

Something I’ve read over the past few years. Magnetite found in the spinal bones suggested that the spine developed from strings of magnetic material. Then developed into some animals sense of direction of magnetic north/south. Inconclusive but also interesting to think about. I do feel that if magnetite has such a noticeable effect on the brain then perhaps other organisms took more of an advantage of such an effect.
I imagine that a world might have developed with high winds and several gasses that hamper development or evolution of a sense for sound or light. A carnivore might develop a different sense that perceives its pray more efficiently in such an environment.
Genetics to me is more then just a matter or issue of
disease or illness. Regardless of these ailments we will one day die. To me it is a tool for developing more then who we are. We are developing different ways to produce machines to help us in many different ways in health, knowledge, exploration. Our bio masses are just simplified machines. I do think machines that we imagine will one day integrate with us to make us more then who we are. Yet for every gain there is a loss, we will one day lose perspective of who we were. The retro respect of genetics. Perhaps aliens are trying to find this missing link about them selves.
Death is a result of biological failure to create new cells before or after the old cells die. The basic unit of every living thing is the cells not the cell phones.

Comments: The strange, half-human creatures in the image above are neither real nor a hoax; they are elements of a sculpture by Australian artist Patricia Piccinini entitled "The Young Family," which, in turn, is part of a larger installation called "We Are Family," described by Jane Silversmith of the Australian Council for the Arts as an exploration of "the changing relationship between what is considered natural and what is considered artificial."
"Piccinini's works animate the promise and the perils of the runaway scientific developments that pervade our time," Silversmith continues. "Her art embodies our dreams -- dreams of perfect children, of perfect health, of life disease-free, and articulates the value of difference and uncertainty in human life."
I would suppose this is not so far fetched from reality...
