Traps for young players:
The professional (in any field) should have to uphold a mandatory Duty of Care to ensure their clients are fully informed. The professional deals with the intricacies and specifics of their job, day-in/day-out. They should have an obligation to make sure their clients are aware of the pitfalls. As with the law, the average person deals with the various professions infrequently and is easy prey for the ethically challenged.
I agree, the Duty of Care should be integrated into education systems.
(That said, though, on large projects, some clients are so clueless and make so many changes that it becomes very difficult for a contractor to keep track of the ramifications of each change UNTIL all the costs are in...)
