Re: The Divided House of Faith and Reason

If we imagine each individual to be speaking from a collective model of mind -
    - true contradictions cannot actually occur -

    - just misunderstandings which arise from differing positions on the tree structure of this collective structure of mind.

    Luckily for us -
    at wisdom,
    - we're granted the capacity to see through the eyes of any individual at any level of the ~24 layered structure (Rayleigh number, Lorenz attractor) of mind
    - a necessary pre-requisite to meaningful communication.

    ~*~

This general idea gives us the only workable definition of mind -
    - an internally wholly consistent logical model with 'global' scope -

    - more simply, developing a mind in which all around makes sense.

How would we assess whether one model is 'more explanatory' than another?

Test it by demanding answers to the 'larger' questions which we pose.

A great place to start'd be why the mind:body duality? and particle:wave duality? enigmas both have dualities in 'em?
    Enigmas shouldn't be that predictable

    - unless ... ? ...

    unless

    - unless of course it's all as simple as monism, duality, trinity .

When we dispense with an anthropomorphic God -
we realise that all of our reality needs to scale from a jolly simple geometry -

    {intelligence, 'too good to be true'}
thoroughly predictable deliverables of a jolly simple geometrical proggy which scales to C Major layered hierarchies
    conducted by itself
    at all locations over eternity.

Re: The Divided House of Faith and Reason

Unless there's a deliberate conscious attempt at subterfuge
    - there's no such thing as a contradiction
    - just varying degrees of capacity for understanding complexity

    - the Christian God can be the only true God
    - as may this be true for Islam
    - there can also be no God
    or definitely a God
    or plenty of Gods
    - and all of these simultaneously.

All of these supposed contradictions (and more) can be and are true simultaneously
    - all we need is some understanding of mind (as a thoroughly natural product of reality) and all of the nasty disagreements just plain 'pooof'
    dissipate.

    Future love paradise awaits.

Where one will not need to wibble about in tranparent crotchless underpants like ex-President George Bush Senior feeding grapes to similarly clad female entities.

    That'd be silly -
the promised land is internal -
a very real, very nice state of mind
    naturally.

And if anybody tries to disagree widja'
click your fingers and tell them that they no longer exist.

    (it really works)

Re: The Divided House of Faith and Reason

    Hi SB_UK,

Logic is derived through language based thought processes that are entertained in the mind. To suggest that logic can define mind is bootstrapping.

There is a curious property about the nature of truth. Negative statements about truth contradict themselves. If I say: “there is no such a thing as truth,” then the statement itself must be false.

There is a similar property associated with the nature of God. If one says there is no God, they presume themselves to be omniscient like God. This can only be a blind belief in language that can never find direct confirmation in any kind of phenomenal experience. Anyone can know this.

If one says there is a God, the person speaking may have direct confirmation in their private experience of knowing that there is. The statement at least allows of the possibility. There may be kinds of private phenomenal experience that can confirm the statement. No one can know otherwise.

    Regards,
    Weir
